2013 HIRE A DT DETECTIVE

FEATURING WRITE UPS BY COLLIWOBBLERS & NOZ, BY REQUEST

The popular Hire A DT Detective thread of 2012 which can be viewed at link below, returns, this year with the added research talent of NOZ.

2012 THREAD LINK: http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,45731.0.html

Last season we completed detailed write ups on over 300 Players!

Uncovering gems and spuds alike. Pouring light into obscure corners of AFL lists and digging out that all important starter or upgrade target for FF DT'ers everywhere. The feedback on the thread was excellent and it was well supported and well used. We look forward to another great season of DT Detective Research and Write Ups.

This thread is for detailed research on any and all players in the AFL. We will do write ups on players requested along with players new to the game, starting with some of the potential draftees.

Articles will feature:

* Player name, Club, Position.
* Players Specs, DOB, Height, Weight, Age.
* Players Draft / Recruitment History
* Draft Combine results where applicable.
* Past Season AFL Stats.
* Past Season stats in other competitions.
* DT Scoring History.
* DT Position and price as soon as it is released to AC Subscribers (Me).
* Player Photo's - put a face to the name.
* Links to Video of the Player.
* Link to articles on the player in the article.
* Player Bio.
* Player Review and Rating. (Subjective)
* Updated NAB CUP Stats.
* Link to a discussion thread on the player in the FF Forums.

OUR AIM:

We aim this thread at research and try to only supply information and facts and articles that may help you form an opinion one way or the other often based on the requesters question.

We do try to give a brief player rating at the bottom just to summarize and give a rating. I think we got it right MOST of the time in 2012, however the ratings are subjective and we encourage  you to form YOUR own opinion on each player based on the research.

So Go Ahead, Request a player whenever you like to be researched in depth and we will get the research done and add that player to the thread.

We will start off with Write Ups on NAB AFL Draftees or at this stage potential draftees and add in requests as well as other players we feel will be of interest to the wider FF DT community.

* The index below will list all players with Write Ups done on them in alphabetical order.

Colli if you can keep up with all this I will be amazed :P

Noz has been working hard on prospective Draftees and is very close to ready to start posting them.

My Pm to him ready something like, "thread is up, get ready for requests..."

next pm, "soon you will know how busy I was last season :) "

Good to have his assistance this season we will get through them. Might need a little patience given AXV I run but I will always have time for this thread, loved doing it last season and Noz has been keen to do it for AGES he will be a gun.

I'll be doing 2 very special non draftees tonight, and a few of the requests so far.

I think Noz will do a few too and not sure but think we can expect to start seeing draftees from Noz any day...

We will of course update all write ups as Draft Combine results, further stats and articles become available, as well as draft positions, teams, and NAB CUP results much later on as well as the obvious final positions and prices for DT.

A labor of love or monumental stupidity :)

The 2009 first-round draft pick made his AFL debut in round 10 against Hawthorn and averaged 13 disposals in his six games, including a career-best 18 disposals against Essendon in round 21 (2011). A raking left-footer, he doesn’t seem overawed on the big stage and looks to have untapped talent. Signed a contract extension in November (2011) and will benefit with extra bulk on his 186cm frame.

Mid Year 2012 Article:  http://www.afl.com.au/news/blogarticle/tabid/8123/newsid/139296/default.aspx

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) - 7.7/10 I jumped on this kid last season in both DT and SC and he went and got injured and out for half the season. Regardless of that it would have been a mistake anyway, a year too soon. But not now. At his price (yet to be confirmed but expected to be modest), he could be one of the best picks for 2013. WHY? you ask, he didn't do much last season. Well actually he showed a lot 4 games over 75 including a ton, playing alongside Hargrave and Gilbee at times both last season, well guess what? BOTH have retired. This kid with another full preseason under his belt, taken at pick #15 overall in 2009 was always going to take over eventually as the Bulldogs playmaker out of defence, at this point there should still be plenty of setting up and coming out of defense for a rebuilding Bulldogs unit and Howard should see plenty of the pill in 2013. If he can step up as the Doggies now desperately need him to he will be the man and a potential premium Back.

Rating based on: Value, Potential, Opportunity.

Prospectus: A breakout year has to be on the horizon, keep him on your radar.

FIRST REQUEST:

Lewis Jetta please :)
Lewis Jetta

Club: Sydney Swans Position: Midfield D.O.B: 4 May 1989
Height: 181cm Weight:75kg Age:

Lewis Jetta was drafted with pick 14 by Sydney in the 2009 AFL Draft, Jetta now a premiership player has impressed Sydney fans with his blistering speed over the course of his 65 games. Jetta's 2012 was his best by far he averaged 15 disposals alongside kicking 45 goals, Jetta also was top 10 at his club for Inside 50s, Goal Assists and Running bounces.
As Jetta improved game by game so did his DT stats in the 38 games he played prior to the 2012 season, Averaging quite a miserable career average of 52, he failed to reach the ton with his highest scoring being 87 in the 2010 Preliminary final, This was not the case in 2012 upping his season average to 76 and reaching the ton a total of 3 times including a massive 133 in round 6.

Ranking: Jetta started of the year with a bang and continued his form throughout the first half of the 2012 season, He was in All Australian form averaging 96 in the first 14 games and proved to be quite a valuable, Though his second half wasn't as good only averaging 63 points he continued to kick goals finishing the year with 45 of them and could be in line for a DPP spot next year, If he can find constancy and become  DPP he might become quite a good pick for any team. 7.5/10

Can we put up draftees or would you like to wait until the draft? also can you please do an article on Sam Reid.

Josh Thomas

Age: 21yr    Games: 0     Born: October 1, 1991
Height: 176cm     Weight: 77kg     Position: Midfield

Meet the draftee: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/86576/default.aspx

Josh Thomas was drafted with pick 75 in the 2009 AFL Draft though he is yet to debut for the Collingwood football club he looms as an exciting prospect for the Collingwood football club, Thomas originally from Queensland is an inside midfield with clean disposal by both hand and foot has found it tough to break into a star studded Collingwood midfield due to suffering from several injuries since his time at Collingwood, Played 7 games in VFL this year averaging 22 disposals and 5 clearances per game.

Fantasy Rating: If Thomas can overcome his injuries and get his body to 100% he might get a few games in the Collingwood team though i predict he will be a sub most games he plays, He plays as a inside midfield and that is needed at Collingwood at fits Buckley's youth plan extremely well. In saying that he is facing one of the toughest tasks in football, Breaking into Collingwoods midfield but if Wellingham leaves a spot will open and Thomas could snatch that chance. 6.5/10

Josh Cowan is one that I'm looking forward to seeing from Geelong next year.

Used to go to my school, never seen him play locally but hopefully he can get more opportunities next year.  :)

Lot of people I've talked to say that he is just awesome he played in a senior premiership for the Dogs as a 16 year old in 2007. I can only remember seeing him occasionally when he was at our school.
