Mr.Craig

I'm not that thrilled about it, but then again I thought the same thing when we got Gibson and that turned out peachy.

Hawka

Im very happy :)
Great deal for both clubs

monstrum

Josh gibsons scores will benefit huge from thin i think ;)

Cicjose

The Hawks gave the Bulldogs their first two selections (currently No. 21 and No. 41)

and the Hawks get the gorilla backman to take on Hawkins they were looking for plus pick 27

win win IMO

monstrum

Too right cic

My thoughts as well

MajorLazer

I feel that we have really won out of this trade. We only lost 6 draft spots from our first round pick and we now have a bigger backman to help out our defence. I don't care about the age because if all goes well, Shoey will be able to take the reins from Lake when he retires.

Hawka

Im gonna go out on a Limb and say the geelong curse should be over next year!

Cicjose

i'm going out on a limb and reckon lake will get injured the week before the Hawks play the Cats

henry

Yeah I really like the move too, fair to both parties I reckon. Bullies would be equally as happy as they are in a development phase and they get 2 pretty high picks for someone who if they kept next year would have been a free agent next year meaning they would not be in control of what they got for him. We'll only need him for 2 years max imo, and as long as he helps Shoey develop and doesn't do too many stupid things it will have been a good trade.

Well that's a risk obviously drafting someone on the wrong side of 30. We'll beat the Cats without Lake anyway  :P

Cats will struggle for finals so Hawkins isn't what where afraid of.

Tippett and cloke would be the two he was drafted for

Cicjose

Hawkins is the one player who has improved out of sight whilst Hawthorn were struggling for backs since 2008

Cicjose

suggesting that Geelong will slide out of the 8 is premature IMO

i still think they will make the 8 but will depend highly on Hawkins getting more goals of which his 2 favourite clubs over his career are the Hawks and Lions.....

but he certainly hasn't struggled against the Bulldogs either which as a one on one contest has been able to expose Lake

meow meow

Lake will do his knee.

the flying hawk

good pick up hawks only need him for a couple of years he will free up gibson.
