FREMANTLE has made a bid to secure Port Adelaide midfielder Danyle Pearce in the first official offer of the Gillette AFL free agency period.

roo boys!

Interesting. Kinda thought he'd be handy at North but not too fussed without him.

Smart move. Play him on the wing and with his kicking skills he's very dangerous. Who are teams going to tag? Hill? Pearce? Fyfe? Mundy? All will be lethal if left to do their own thing, and teams can't tag them all.

Fremantle developing quite a nice midfield there. Pearce could dominate without getting the tag every week.

did not see that coming but the kid is quick and he has stagnated in recent years

hopefully Lyon can get him back to the level he is capable of

:( I said last night I wanted him at the Eagles haha

Could be a good move even if he hasn't shown much since that 2006 rising star award.

Exactly well said. I really like this move.
If he's used right, Pearce will be very damaging

Interesting move - I dont mind it, some outside pace who can kick.  Be interesting to see if we make an offer on Wellingham as well.  Would be a successful trade period if we get Pearce and Wellingham

he's been cleared to sign with us

THE Port Adelaide Football Club confirms that Danyle Pearce is clear to sign a contract with the Fremantle Football Club and will leave Alberton under new free agency rules.

Port Adelaide general manager football Peter Rohde said after careful consideration the club had decided it would not match Fremantle’s offer for the services of the 26-year-old restricted free agent.

“We have taken time to think about the situation and have resolved that it would be irresponsible in the context of our team structure at Port Adelaide to match the offer put forward by Fremantle,” Rohde said.
