Because picks 4 and 13 are compensation picks for losing Scully so they don't need to be used for father son picks. That means they can either use their first round pick (#3) or their second round pick (#26). The only reason they would have to use pick 3 on him was if GWS or GC nominate to use pick 1 or 2. If they don't then they can pick him up for a steal at pick 26!

I tend to agree, which is why Whitfield will almost certainly be number 1, really hard to see the giants letting him go. Clubs will only draft for team needs if there is a glaring hole in their line up which they are more likely to use their later picks to fill. Melbourne may have to use pick 3 to get Viney, there's increasing speculation that Gold Coast will offer pick 2 to get him, requiring the demons to use #3. We'll find out on Monday.
