Thoughts
Gibbs, the first pick in the 06 national draft, was listed as a pure midfielder unlike previous years and had a very poor season in 2012. His average dropped by 8 from 2011 in a dissapointing Carlton team. Mid-season, there were suggestions that he would be traded to Port in exchange for Travis Boak... Alas, this did not eventuate, but it does highlight how dissapointing his year was. Let's be honest, at some points this year it was very reasonable to call Gibbs 'soft as butter', as he was showing no intensity or dedication on the field. Now though, with a Mick Malthouse at the reins, I can imagine Gibbs getting a fair old kick up the ar*e. There is no telling how Mick's going to utilise Gibbs, as a tagger, half-back, or pure midfielder, but we can expect his work rate, hardness and hopefully as a result, his SC scoring to improve.

Verdict
If listed as a defender which I pressume he will be, Gibbs will definietly find a place in my team. Turning 24 next year, Gibbs should be hitting his peak mighty soon. I will watch NAB cup closely to see how Mick uses him though.

Prediction
105 average for the talented Blue.

Yep agree. U'd have to pick him if he gets his DPP back which he should.

Will definitely consider Gibbs if he is dpp and I reckon Malthouse can bring the best out in him as a footballer
