THREE Geelong premiership heroes will be given at least one more season with the club.

The Age reported on Thursday that Josh Hunt, Paul Chapman and Corey Enright have been offered one-year contracts and will be with the club in 2013.

Chapman was shaping as the contentious one and had been holding out for a two-year deal, but has reportedly been assured by the Cats that he will be offered a deal for 2014 as well if his form next season warrants it.

"He will be fine. He will be here," Balme told the newspaper.

"There was never any doubt about that.

"It will be one year at a time, which we all said, which is fair enough.

There is no clause for a second year."

The trio are all aged over 30, which places the Cats in the tricky situation of how to handle their eventual departures from the club.

"It's really quite a sensitive thing, how you handle your great champions when they get towards the end. There has got to be a little give and take from both sides," he said.

Chapman and Enright featured in the 2007, 2009 and 2011 premiership teams, while Hunt played in 2007 and 2011. He missed 2009 because of a knee injury.

Chapman will probably sign a 2-game contract just to play against us each year to continue the torment   :-\

bunyip

have no fear. I think the Hawks are clearly ahead of us now. I would be amazed if we beat you next season.
