I *think* throwing it in the air would constitute as a throw. I'm no even sure if you hand pass it and tap it like nic nat did, all I remember was that I watched the review thing by Gieschen that week, and he explained it. I can't remember if it was the tap that was legal, or if it was just deemed that he didn't have control of the ball when he tapped it.... I just watched the video a couple of times, and I really don't think he did have full control of that
so if players started juggling the ball it would be ok??

Dont get me wrong, i think that there was nothing wrong with Nic Nats behind...(not talking about his butt)
but i think there are players in the AFL that are getting away with things they shouldnt be. Buddy run up to goal is an arc and should be playon, the ruck contests against Nic Nat should be picked up for opposition ruckman crossing the line and that dropping the ball rule is an absolutte farce......

Ziplock

that might be legal, but it wouldn't be easy or practical, would be slow and easy to intercept. But, as I said, I think it's because nic nat was deemed as not having control of the ball when he tapped it.

fact is, the nic nat one is a more ambiguous and grey area... the jetta one was clearly an incorrect decision lol. Watching it live though, I personally didn't pick up on it, and I'm glad the umpires didn't :P

doesn't buddy actually kick from his line though?

what's the dropping the ball rule? :S

Capper

if a player gets tackled and the ball comes loose from the player trying to get rid of the ball it is play on rather than holding the ball

Ziplock

that's what I thought you were talking about...

I agree- I mean it's one thing if the tackling players ripped the ball out of his hand, but if it's been dropped, then it should be a tackle...
