Patrick Ryder

2012 stats:
Games: 15

Position: R

Average: 105

Tons: 8

Grade: 8/10

Ryder in 2013
Price: $560,400 (Fan Planner)
Position: R (Chance of R/F?)

Ryder was enjoying a breakout season in 2012 before injury affected him and he only managed 1 game in the last 8 rounds.
His ability to leap over taller opponents as well as go forward and kick goals meant that he was able to produce some big scores and will hopefully have him considered as a R/F in 2013.
With a big pre season I think he will certainly be one to keep a close eye on for season 2013. If the bombers can find a way to produce wins in the second half of the season they will be a high quality side and Ryder plays a big role in that push for a top 4, top 8 finish.
His only down side is that he can find himself in bad form slumps from time to time. But as he and the team mature and get better I think we will see this less and less.

Predicted avg: 105- 110

Will keep an eye on him and will also consider if R/F but better options next year

Been watching Ryder closely for the last 3 years...patiently waiting....2 years ago I tagged him to be as good as Franks in being a majorly influential player on the outcome of a game

He has been slowly increasing his output each year, this year being quite servicable.

I think he has massive potential and 2013 looms as a year where he will dominate....Golden Balls just needs to get inside his head and constantly tell him how good he can be...give him some confidence.

Roughy & Ryder as my set and forget rucks from rd 1...both in the prime of their careers age wise

I like it it bowyanger. Will be different from everyone elses NicNat/Berger combo aswell

With no new teams entering the comp next year, rookies that constantly play will be much harder to find than the last 2 years where we could pick 6 or 7 suns / giants and they would play.

Next year I will be going about it a bit different...wont be able to start with superstars, so I can save $$$ so I can have bench players such as Luey, Varcoe, RGray (Only examples) etc that will be in the starting 22 for their respective teams.

So after that bit of a confusing rant, I will still have Luey in my side, whether he is on my bench, or Roughy / Ryder can hide in the FWD line for half a season

Ill get on the Nic Nat train if Big Cox suffers a big injury, or when Big Cox retires. Just my opinion.

Agreeing with above posts needs Ruck/Forward DPP since Naitanui and Leuenbeger are much better options in the ruck.

Is he a realistic chance to get R/F dpp? He played a lot of game time inside 50 and regularly kicks goals. Not sure though

He kicked 17 goals in 15 games, would have to be a chance.

enzedder

Very likely to be in my team from R1 as a fwd with link to ruck.
Wouldn't surprise to see him as a top 5 fwd in 2013.

Wasn't great . The thing that I don't understand is why they bother with anyone else in the middle. He leaped straight over Jacobs at the centre bounces but he wasn't in their often enough. I would have him as the #1 ruckman if I was Essendon

Southstorm

Maybe they don't know what to do with him after all. I expected him to have much more of an impact down forward

ubeaut

He is just inconsistent. Very talented -  but Bellchambers has no.1 ruck duties so he can't just rely on hit outs and second efforts. I just can't ever pick him. Carn Paddy!
