Sam Jacobs

2012 stats:
Games: 21

Position: R

Average: 102

Tons: 12

Grade: 8/10

Jacobs in 2013
Price: $542,300 (Fan Planner)
Position: Ruck

Since moving across from Carlton, Jacobs has become the number 1 big man at Adelaide and one of the top performing ruckman in the AFL. 2012 was a breakout season for Jacobs having the most hitouts to advantage in the league and increasing his Super coach average to over 100 for the first time. He was a popular fancy for All Australian honours but was controversially not included in the side despite having a dominant year.
Jacobs provides great value at his fan planer price in 2013 and should certainly be considered as part of any teams ruck combination. He basically plays a lone hand in Adelaide's ruck division, is a tap out king, and has improved his average every season he has played, and at the age of 24 is coming into his prime.

Predicted avg: 110

NicNat - Berger combo for me and probably everyone else...no room for Jacobs.

Will certainly be the popular pick if its available.
Not certain how the Berger is travelling though. Would be a risk to take him if his pre season isnt flash

Yeah, true. His value will be so hard to pass up though.

yeh going to have to watch the NAB very closely with Bergs
at his price tho, even if he's not 100% he might still be worth it
so its a no for Jacobs at this stage

Like his consistency, but better options in the ruck.

Sauce will be the lead ruck at the crows even with Graham signing and should score well. Not for me though as Goldy is just in front

NEW ADELAIDE recruit Angus Graham has a message for teammate Sam Jacobs: the fight for the number one ruck position is on.

"I've been number one before and I still think I'm a very good player and can take his spot, so I'm not just going to allow him to walk straight in, I'm going to fight over the pre-season and put my best foot forward," Graham said.

It's interesting when you think about it like this...

Maric number 1 at Adelaide --> Jacobs moves to the Crows and becomes number 1 --> Maric moves to Richmond and becomes number 1 --> Graham now number 2 moves to Crows --> Thinks he can become number 1 even though Jacobs overtook Maric as number 1 and Graham was behind Maric.

Doesn't read well for him, but I like his enthusiasm! ;)

Actually considering Sauce Jacobs. Will be a great POD! Everyone will be too Intrested in Nic Nat, Cox, Mullett and Goldy
