I'll get the ball rolling  ;)

In goals: Necevski is a good cheap option and will hold GK#1 down at SFC for the year.
Ryan from CCM is a safe bet and he should have a similar year to last maybe even better.
Galekovic and Velaphi (if given the Victory #1 job in the absence of Covic) also provide great value.

Defence: CCM defenders are at a premium but they are well worth it! Their defence was the best last year and imo will be again this year (meaning many clean sheets points).
I wont be going with Zwaanswijk this year but I will be starting with Bojic and Rose as I believe these 2 will be pivotel in CCM's attacking plays and will get clean sheet points, will play 90 minutes most games and are cheaper than Zwaan.
Franjic from the Roar is also a solid pick for me this year. You'll know what you'll get with him and playing in a successful team will mean more clean sheets and points for being on the winning side of the scale.
Thwaite from the Glory is a solid option as is Sigmund from the Phoenix.
I personally wont be touching any MHT, NUJ, ADU or WEL defenders this year as you want clean sheets and the Roar, CCM and Perth should be the best defensive teams.

Midfield: Heaps to chose from here!
As a Jets fan I don't really like saying this but the Victory mids show great value this year! Flores, Finkler and Rojas all ready to shine this year in a year I believe the Victory will finish in the top 4.
The Roar 4some of Broich, Nichols, Paartalu and Halloran are all valid options and you have to pick at least one of them. For me, I'm taking Paartalu for salary cap reasons mainly but also as he can improve on last year.I'll also be taking young gun Halloran as well... he can only improve big time. He is gun this kid.
The Wanderers also provide some good options in the mids, mainly Mooy and Trifiro who should get good game time and play a hand in WSW's attacking plays.

Fowards: My setup for this year will be two guns + WSW's cheap pick Dino Kresinger.
Take your pick from Smeltz, Del Piero, Berisha.
I'll be going with the consistency and scoring power Berisha and the class that I'm sure Del Piero can bring SFC.
However there are some good POD's too like Djite and Ifill.
If you really want a risk the Jets duo of Heskey and Griffiths will be interesting and I think they can both have great years in the goals and assists front.

Who are you guys considering for your team???
10 days away from first lockout!

Awesome work mate! Looks good! Although a few names that I thought I would mention. In the mids Dugandzic and Brown are both great option for different reasons. Dugandzic is an out and out premium and will be the heart's main channel through the mid, and Brown is ready to take the next step and be really great for Newcastle. In the fwd's, Huysegems from Wellington could be a bargain if you are willing to take the punt. Priced at 150k he is a great option if you are looking to go 3 forwards or looking to have Del Piero and save money for other positions. Apart from that there aren't many you have missed. Good work mate!

Theo Markelis is a good cheap back up option.  Jimmy Jeggo is the same in midfield as I reckon he will get a good chunk of game time this season.

I think Carrusca from Adelaide could be a bargain too.  Poljak from WSW could be an option as a very cheap backup, or even a starter if he gets going as he's an attacking mid.  Gerhardt and Caira provide cheap options at the back.

I made a massive list of players a week ago but not sure I want to give out all my potential players. :P

Thanks Popey! Dugandzic is a good option actually, I'll look into that one thanks! As a Jets fan I am excited by brown, Heskey and Griffiths this year, should be interesting!

Popey99

Yeah I have Poljak and Polenz as my last starting mid choices. Going Polenz at the moment.

Need a cheap rookie priced defender, any ideas?

Yeah mate. Your best bets are Gerhardt and Caira.

Whats your thoughts on Cassio from ADL?

I'm not too sold.  As I said in another thread Adelaide's defence isn't the best.  Only palyers I'd consider are Vidosic or their new guy Carrusca, who could be terribly underpriced.

The dilemma with Del Piero is not one of us will get a look at him before season open, lack of match conditioning may see him not play significant TOG in the early season, hence his price may drop.

*Maybe the perfect upgrade target for those starting the season with Markelis, and have some coin left over.

Got two assists in a 5-0 win - http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/sydneyfc/news-display/Stars-shine-in-Sydney-FC-friendly/49408.

What is the better option? Getting Berisha instead of Del Piero and upgrade Markelis/Huysegems to him with the cash I have left, or, start with him and only have 50k left?

My theory was to start with him.  If he starts on fire he will rise in price and it may be harder to upgrade to him.  If he fails he may lose money, but he's also the highest priced player, so you can easily trade down to another class striker (Berisha, Smeltz, even Heskey if he starts well).

Like this option. But who I'm haven't locked in my bench forward yet. Want to know who will play more Markelis or Kresinger and who's better option.

Markelis will play more games as far as I am concerned. Both have very similar scoring capabilities.
