Good write up torps, I can't see him being $204K but i'll pay up to $350, premium ruck every day of the week, a full pre-season and he is locked and loaded.

Still any niggles or doubts and that "bargain pick" ca turn into a nightmare, so he needs to be 100% fit!
+1
I would probs even pay up to 400k for him as he's likely to be a top 5 ruck.

Football Factory

Cant see him only being worth 204k .. anything under 300k is an automatic lock for me

Ricochet

easily one of my first picked players next year

nostradamus

VS uppped Hayes' price last year and l'm expecting them to do it to Luey and a few more this year too

Hayes was a champion tho. Berger and lots of the other cheap players are much more unproven so should still all be fairly cheap

Even if they upped it to say...350k - I would still pay that for a potential top 3 ruck.

if he is fit, he will be a lock in many teams next year
The question is whether to pick him at R2 or R3 as he can be used as a cash cow since he is so cheap. Hopefully guys like Grundy and Daniher dont play R1 so i can downgrade Burger to one of them

Yeh I know, think its safer to have him at R2 and use that extra cash elsewhere.
Either he'll dominate and become a keeper or he'll make you enough money for a small upgrade to someone else

Colliwobblers

R2 for me that is unless we are starved of rookie options for my R3 and R4.

R1 ... hmmm

Injury update: Matthew Leuenberger  15/10/12

We were always planning to modify Leuey’s pre-season program, as you do with someone so big who does a lot of jumping. So even prior to his Achilles injury we had planned to take him through a modified season last year and a modified pre-season this year. Unfortunately in Round 3 over in Perth he sustained the injury, and so went through a long rehab process. So off the back of that, he’ll be ready to start pre-season, but tendon injuries are a little slower to heal than muscles, so it will be modified.

I think that prediction is spot on. He will be a premo but not to the extent he was in 2010 :)

2010? I would like him to average a little more than 77 ;)

By the time we would be thinking about upgrading him he would have shaken off all remnants of that injury (assuming he doesn't reinjure himself). His overall average I guess will probably be lower but he could easily start slow and then pull a 95+ average in the back half of the year. I'm picking him hoping he can go 80+ for the first half and then start to pull out the big numbers as the season goes on to dominate in finals!
