Following the conclusion of the 2012 AFL and NEAFL seasons, the Brisbane Lions AFC has completed its player reviews and interviews.

The Club can confirm that Cheynee Stiller, James Hawksley, Sam Sheldon, Bryce Retzlaff, Brad Harvey (rookie), and Josh Dyson (rookie) have been delisted.

Cicjose

Karnezis should be getting games next year then now they have delisted Retzlaff.....

BB67th

I didn't think Hawksley would be getting delisted. I thought he showed a bit of form in the games he played at the end of the year.

Ringo

Stiller has played 100 games and is 26y/o and has not been able to cement a regular place in our 22.  Only played 3 games this year.
Hawksley and Sheldon are both 23 and made their debuts in 2008 and 2009 respectively and still have yet to play 50 games which would be a yardstack for young draftees. Both have shown promosie but have failed to grasp opportunities presented.
Retzlaff is also 22 but did not debut until 2011 and only played 11 games. Has been in outstanding form in the 2's and was their Captain until his season ending injury. This one is a bit of surprise but can live with the decision.

Remains to be seen who we draft as replacements and what happens during trade period but will open up some spots.

Can they re-draft Retzlaff?
He might still play for the reserves?

Cicjose

they will draft him in the rookie draft i suspect

Ringo

Yes we have done that in the past.  Will however go on rookie list if that is the case but still eligible for reserves.

Justin Bieber

Yeah still got one game to make it 100 and it was basically a retirement game. Surprised Cornelius survived especially if Tippett comes to the lions.

Ringo

Forwards are our weak spot Lez with not great depth so that is why I think we are keeping Cornelius and Karnezis to see if they can develop further.  Voss thinks highly of Cornelius and just wants him to work more.  Has great grab and accurate kick.

Agree with Hawksley going. If he was going to develop he would have by now.
Turns the footy over way to much and with such depth and talent in our back line he is not needed.
