A couple of days ago I heard a rumour saying that Goddard wants to remain in Victoria, and apparently Geelong have joined the race for him

I don't think he will be in St Kilda colours next year, and the likelihood of that is growing by the day

i could've sworn i read on here the other day that Freo were 'officially out of the race'
Goddard doesn't want to leave Victoria...Kind of confusing that Freo is still chasing him.

And for the record, if Freo leaves trade month (::)) with Lee, Shaw, Hogan and Goddard I'll go by Mary for 2013.

We had only previously offered a 3 year contract to Goddard.  A 4 year, $3.4million contract would be a little hard to turn down.  Especially at the age of 27

i'm not 100% sure how this works.... if Goddard leaves, do we(Saints) get compensation?

Yes you do because he is a restricted agent. You'll get a pick.

We offered him a 4 year $3.2 million contract from reports I heard, not a substantial difference over 4 years.

I thought the Bombers offer was in the vacinity of $700k per season ($2.8million) so an $800k per season ($3.4million) offer is a substantial difference.

That's what I heard but I'm not sure on the credibility of the source. I'm quite certain we've offered more than 700k though.

I've heard that we've offered more than 700k as well.

Freo have offered $840K a season for him over 4 years.... apparently that's $100K+ more than what Essendon had lined up

Travis Cloke just re signed with Collingwood for another 5 years; I'm tipping Freo to go all guns for Goddard now.. Goddard will be a docker next year, that is my tip
