Need a spinner I think, and with the two best already picked, I may as well pick the third greatest.  Anil Kumble.

The word greatest is being chucked around way too much in this draft.

I didn't say he was the greatest, I said he third.  Can't argue with his stats. :)

JBs-Hawks

There are a lot of better spinners then him. Just because he played more matches leading to more wickets then others,  there's atleast5 other spinners off the top of my head that I'd take before him.

Last I heard, the idea of a bowler was to get wickets, which is exactly what he did.  And not really sure how playing more games than other spinners is an argument against him.  Clearly he played more games because he deserved to play more games.  Warne and Muralitharan also played more games than most as well.

JBs-Hawks

Because modern players play more matches then past generations. Ponting has made more runs then Bradman does that make him better? Kallis has more runs and more wickets (not sure just assuming) than sobers does that make him better?

My point is, just because you play more games doesn't mean you aren't as good as players that played less.  Sure, modern players play more games, but they still have to score the runs and take the wickets as well.

Not as good as Grace at 20. :-X

Shaggy

Malcolm Marshall

Pretty happy with that pick, given my position in the order that he could fall to me.

Gary Sobers is widely regarded as one of the best cricketers ever to grace the game. His efforts throughout his 476 test careers give him a very strong case toward having the title 'Best Cricketer' outright.

Known for feats such as his long standing record of 365* in an international innings, being the first batsman to manage 36 runs in a single over, being 1 of only 2 men (the other being Bradman)

Sorry to interrupt but Don Bradman only hit six 6's in his entire test career (and they wern't in one over). I think you will find that Herschelle Gibbs was the man you were looking for.
