Jack Viney could be one of the premier starters for Melbourne next year week in week out.
Viney is a known tough player and quite the ball magnet.

I think Viney may get anywhere from 15-22 games next year, with some rests providing he doesnt getting injured for longer periods of time.

Viney will obviously be a midfielder and probably priced around the 92-110k range?
If Neeld decides to start Viney in the midfielder he could definitely average in the low 80's at his best because under Neeld's game plan he will have to do the hard yards like tackling.

Personally Viney will be in my dream team because he is a guaranteed sure thing at Melbourne

Young gun midfielders can't break into the stunning Melbourne team, Couch anyone? ::)

Windigo

So he is gunna go to Melbourne or are the GWS gunna take him before the Dees selection?

Would the Dees really chase after him?  ???

tbagrocks

Who's the second best player if Viney and Daniher are unavailable? pick 2 will be who? ???

Why are you comparing Viney to Couch? Viney is clearly superior.

Toumpas or Grundy. Possibly Wines.

Viney will definitely go to Melbourne, Neeld has to say hes not an automatic selection, but he will play for Melbourne.
Cannot possibly compare Viney to Couch. Viney uses the ball well, unlike Couch, Couch doesnt use the ball thaat well

If Viney is a first round draft pick as expected his price will be about $150k (in Fanplanner he is $160,200). If the AFL are generous enough to allow Melbourne to take him with their second round draft pick under the father-son rule though, he'll be about $100k. Either way, he sounds like a pretty talented player so he'll be worth considering.

Absolute class from all reports but I'm not sure I'll be splurging out on top line rookies. Depends what happens int he nab though of course!

Good news for all DTers - neither GWS nor GC have nominated Viney with pick 1 or 2, which means Viney is pretty much 100% guaranteed to go to Melbourne for pick 26. Viney will be a bargain, probably a lock if he is picked in Round 1.  ;D

And it is still good for the dees leaving their first 3 draft picks free to snap up some other guys.

In my team at the moment ..

Played VFL in a carefully managed program that Neeld says makes him more likely than not to play AFL early in 2013.

"Keep in mind that Jack has already been part of this place for a year," Neeld said.
