But the season is so far away, we need to argue, we're rivals ;)

Need something to do in between. Becoming one of FF's fiercest XVs rivalries. I need something to do Adam, don't deny me of it :-X

Haha fine, but I really can't be bothered with anymore banter tonight...

Our rivalry will be flowering epic though. >:D

will blair and maten be in his best 15 ? really ? i would be very surprised if JB has to play masten in his midfield or blair in his fwd line for that matter, maybe one will make the utility position but if you look at his list that is even doubtful.

for the record the facts are that

Masten, Blair, Motlop are all rated by champion data as AVERAGE PLAYERS

harper is rated as BELOW AVERAGE PLAYER.

as for what points he gains well that depends n if he plays those players, being middle of the road players there is no guarantee he will, and you need to look at this

this is what matters - i don't care really WHO LOSES IN A TRADE OR BY HOW MUCH

i do care if a team gets an unfair advantage over other teams through an uneven trade.....

so to work that out

HOW MUCH MORE WILL MATEN and or BLAIR score than THE PLAYER IN JBSHAWKS team that he REPLACES FOR THEM.

so if he takes Pearce (96 avg ) out and puts masten in (113) he gains 17 points per game.

if he takes gunston (88 avg) out and puts blair in (103) he gains 15 points per game.

SO CRY FOR KOOP IF YOU WANT TO

BUT DON'T GO ACTING LIKE HE IS GAINING 66 POINTS PER GAME AND THE REST OF US SUFFER BECAUSE OF THAT BECAUSE THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS HE GAINS 32 ( in this example), WHICH OVER A COMPLETE 15 WITH CAPTAIN AND VICE CAPTAIN IS FLOWER ALL NO ?

i think if you do the maths the guy who got boyd gains a whole hell of a lot more over the rest of us for that trade which no one really complained about....

I got Boydy. 8)

Yeah, the trade was really even on paper, mabye even a slight win to Noz.

But if you look at my team and who they replaced, it was:

OUT: Wellingham (111 average) + Mundy (120 average, although will be 130 next year IMO)

IN: Harvey (117 average) + Boyd (147 average and my captain)

Nails

Blair is JBs' no.3 forward

Masten his no.5 mid (so therefore bench)

So yes, they both comfortably line up in his best XV.

Yes but Boyd is old and 1-2 years left... Therefore it's a sacrifice long term He's old = not as valuable

This trade is young premium x2 vs. young nothing. There is no long term sacrifice.

Colli is the administrator and what he says goes  ;)  he's fair & impartial and deserves to have his opinions and decisions respected

*and besides, both sides are happy........so  :-X

Contraversy on the last day, love it!! ;D

Personally i think some sort of voting system on trades needs to be implemented next yr, dont think it works the way it is setup atm

How the flower is Motlop going to be defender?? Varcoe will be a defender and Motlop will get delisted a year.

Harper is probably the worst player in the comp. Soft as anything, weak as piss, outside player, cannot win the ball, averages 20 in DT

I see two spuds for two good players.

Let's look at the draft:

Blair = Pick 127
Masten Pick 159

Harper Pick 359
Motlop Pick 276

Come on Cw. Make the right choice.

Adamant

Lol a motor at pick 276. ;D

While I may not still agree with the trade, Colli has now given us his reasoning for the trade and there is some evidence to make it fair. Seeing as we also all agreed that he would have the last say on trades, we have to respect his decision and go with it. Possibly we look at doing trading a different way next year, but for now this trade will go through.

not masten at 105 for harper at 75

this is one of the FACTS that got the trade through. motlop WILL improve and so WILL harper, blair and masten won't much if at all, so that 30 point a game differential should be less by the end of 2013 making the trade more even in reality.

You realise Masten is 113 and Harper is 70? That's 43 points not 30.

You can't guarantee it's a FACT Motlop/Harper will improve. There's no guarantee. They might never improve. That's like guaranteeing Tambling was going to be a star.

Justin Bieber

Well if this trade was with say Eskimoes and Bears. Would it be approved?

If you think Motlop will be getting delisted this season you're delusional - he is easily in the Cat's best 22.

The other Motlop's perhaps (Daniel and whoever else it was) were spuds but Motlop is very highly rated at Geelong and from watching their games last season I rate him as well.

I remember seeing twice in once game where because of the zone everyone was in the other forward half. Geelong got a long ball forward and Motlop ran onto it, outpaced all the defenders and goaled.

As mentioned before it looks like he'll spend some as a halfback link man/sweeper for Geelong this which is fantasy gold and could see him as a valued fwd/def next season. Also Harper will be a fwd/mid either next season or the season after.

Also don't quote where players were drafted in this league as I could give you numerous examples of retrospectively poor drafting.

Motlop was pick 39 in the AFL National draft and Harper pick 27. Sure Masten was pick #3 (lol) but Blair was pick #91.

Matthew Boyd was pick 21 in the rookie draft and look how he turned out...

Anyway we're out of list movements now but these are the players who have been traded in. If anyone wants to make a last minute deal we would consider it. We would possibly consider moving on Polec who will be a gun but only for a very good deal.

Looking for defenders.

Brad Ebert
Cam Pedersen
Shannon Byrnes
Steve Motlop
Kieran Harper
