If anyone is looking for a last minute trade and interested in Steele Sidebottom then make me your best offer.

Am looking for a gun mid to cover for the loss of Sidey plus a 90+ back under 28y.o
So basically someone equal to Sidebottom plus 26 year old defender lol ::)
when did I say equal? A gun mid can be someone less valuable than Sidey e.g. 125 avg. Then a back makes up the difference. Btw dont offer me anyone over 28

Thanks lez. :)

Now that I have one list movement back, I can do this trade:

Lambs (Toga) give: J.Schulz + J.Polec + A.Boston

Eskimos (KoopKicka & Memph) give: B.Lake + N.Bock + T.Hunt

KOOPKICKA or MEMPHISTOPHELES TO CONFIRM

Costs me two list movements, but since I got one back from lez & am trading Taylor Hunt back into my team, net list movement is zero. Gives me two older defence premiums, very happy and just about completes my team.

Confirm.

APPROVED

Just- this is a ridiculous looking trade, however it is not really at all, there are a few points I will make as to the approval of it.

BOCK = 30 yrs old - only averaged 80 in his full season with GCS in 2011 not ultra premium but premium.

LAKE = 31 yrs old - will be close to an ultra premium defender this season but has to stay fit.

T HUNT = young, could be good, but clearly he is a tagger (at this stage) and his fantasy value is relatively low due to this.

VS.

SCHULZ = 27 yrs old never be elite but he is a low level premium, could post a DT average of 80+ easily if port improves.

POLEC = pick 5 in 2010 national draft, future star to be sure.

BOSTON = he's a damn rookie  :o wtf? you say.... well he is actualy a bit of a gun, the only Queenslander named in the 2012 u18 all Australian team, he is a GCS listed rook been playing for broadbeach and playing very well, no chance of any fantasy worth this season maybe not ever at GCS until they cullthier list at least, but he should be a gun player in the future, stats from the NEAFL are impressive and he was first in the new goal kicking test at the 2012 combine, why he didn't get drafted - he was a GCS zone prelisting, bit dissapointing for him he is a rookie, but think he is one to watch in the future, so not nearly as worthless as he may seem at first glance.

So TOGA gets a big win for 2012, but I think the trade won't take too long to start favouring the eskimo's maybe a season or two...

Toga

Yep I Agree Colli - I definitely win short term - Lake will become my D4, while Bock will be a floating emg. Taylor Hunt will be ok as mid backup for years to come, but as you said his tagging roles will affect scoring. BUT with Geelong's next-gen midfield coming through he could turn out a gun.

Imo the Eskimos get a pretty good deal as well - Schulz averaged 115 SportsBet last year in a poor side. With side's improvement, plus a better midfield and support around him, could easily go 120+. Polec will be a star, and, despite a lot of people not rating Boston (lez ;) ) I actually think he  has good potential.

But as you said, I gain for this year, with Lake and Bock being premiums NOW but retiring in a couple of years, while eskimos gain more in the long term!

I don't mind the trade at all, boston is better than he looks i think he makes people think it is very uneven but keep an eye out for that kid....

GIVE JB TIME TO SORT THAT SMEDTS TRADE OUT ??? ALSO

Yea not sure where Smedts came from? The Eskimoes wanted young forwards so I gave them Harper and Motlop and they gave me Masten and Blair.

Confirm.

Think this means we have used all our list movements. Hunt is being on traded so no this counts as two lm for us I think?

Also we did one other trade but I haven't seen it posted. Colli did you get details about a Masten+Blair for Motlop+Harper deal between us and JBs Hawks (Australian Ales).

If not that's the deal - JBs-Hawks to confirm.

And for all those others asking about our trade situation - its Valentine's Day eve and I'm otherwise occupied ;) so i'll get back to you tomorrow.

I pmed Coli the trade but yes confirmed.

it could be argued that motlop and harper will one day be as good as blair and masten, but i seriously doubt it, and you are trading 2 established lower level premiums for 2 developing kids....

trade makes no sense masten and blair are both young also.

blair is a fwd so i do not see why he would trade out a young fwd when looking for young fwds?

Balir (22) avg 104.7

Masten (23) avg 113.05

vs

motlop (22) avg 81.57

harper (20) avg 70.18

I have to think more on this trade it is borderline ridiculous. and borderline of giving an unfair advantage to a team over other teams by gaining a huge advantage through a trade.

I have let some uneven ones pass so i don't want to block one now and be inconsistant but the numbers and ages above are pretty clear.

I will decide on this tonight however i would consider renegotiating the trade again if young fwds are what you want why ditch a young fwd just to get one in who averages 30ppg less ?

Justin Bieber

To be fair cw, I think this trade is more one sided than a trade I almost got put through in British...

Swallow for Mackie lol.

Memphistopheles

The reason for that trade is as follows.

Harper although he didn't score as highly last season I'm putting that down to the second year blues. He's now in his third season and imo is likely to break out.

I don't have time at the moment but I can quote you three news articles which say he's set to play a lot more midfield time this season and has been one to watch on the training track. He is also dangerous around goals which score you plenty of points in this game.

Motlop is also set to play off a half-back flank in a run and carry role with Geelong in addition to spending time in the forward line. Those run and carry defenders like Goddard/Scotland/Hanley etc are some of the best scorers. And with the zones these days Motlop's pace could well see him being the one to finish off a move with a goal.

Also both these players are slightly younger than those we are trading away (Blair/Masten).

I also see Masten's score dropping off this season with a fully fit Eagles team and the addition of Wellingham.

I also see Blair's out put dropping slightly due to the change in Collingwood's playing style. Instead of them going along the boundary they'll be going up the middle which will mean there won't be as many possessions for their midfielders and not as much action for the small forwards (good for Cloke/Lynch though).

In conclusion while I think Masten and Blair are ahead (probably by about a season) of Harper and Motlop I see them catching up and surpassing them in the next 1-2 years. In about 2-3 years is when we'll be challenging for the flag imo so they suit us well.

Me and KoopKicka were both happy with this trade.

For the record also we want two young forwards not just one and felt we could field Embley in the fourth midfield spot so was willing to give up Masten.

I'm also of the opinion that Polec will also break out this season and should be ready to fill that last mid spot (with Pendles, Ebert and Hanneberry) once Embley has retired.

Justin Bieber

Im sorry Meth, but when your becomes competetive there will be power houses like me or nost 8)

Also Harper is probably the worst fantasy I have ever seen and has zero potential. Also who will he kick out of the mids? Except Harvey? Cunnington? Wells? Adams will play more mids... Atley as well. bastinac? L. Anthony? Who did I forgot?

This Motlop flog is the softest player in the AFL, massive outside player, relies on Geelong winning. With Geelong declining rapidly I dont see a spud like him kicking many goals.

JB needs to give up more or I canot see why Swallow for Mackiw didn'T go through?!?!

You're entitled to your opinion and we're entitled to ours.

Harper will be a big improver this season. He looked decent in 2011, had a bit of a case of the second year blues in 2012 and now is in his third year - the one where most players break out.

Motlop's a similar case. Both have a lot of potential, we think more than Blair and Masten and are willing to lose a bit this year in order to gain in the future.

Also this is not British, different scoring system so don't compare their trades to ours.

Justin Bieber

When I compair The British, I was getting Swallow :(

Adamant

Anyone want Michael Rischitelli or Brent Moloney? looking for forward depth in return. PM me your best offer.

Nails

That is a flowering ridiculous trade...

Harper and Motlop both average at best players

For two players who are pretty much the same age as them but are already stars

I see absolutely zero reasoning to it, I'd give you more for Masten tbh.
