Trent Cotchin

2012 stats:
Games: 22

Position: C

Average: 116

Tons: 19

Grade: 9/10

Cotchin in 2013
Price: $617,700 (Fan Planner)
Position: Mid

If all goes according to the script, Trent Cotchin will become a 'super premium' supercoach mid in season 2013.
He has just won his second consecutive B&F, was awarded the Coaches Association player of the year award, named All Australian, a favourite for the Brownlow medal, and a heavy favourite to become the captain of the Richmond Football Club in season 2013.. All of this at the age of just 22.
His 2012 Supercoach season was a breakout year, only scoring under 100 on 3 occasions (99, 98, 73)
There is going to be a lot of upside for this guy for a long, long time. Would strongly suggest locking him into your side from day 1 in 2013 and for the years to come!

Predicted avg: 120-130

Yeah really excited about him, particularly as a Tiges supporter

One of my better pickups this year, locked in for a 5 year deal with my team 😝

+1 love it!
Will be a top player next year alongside Selwood I reckon.

Cotch's standard deviation (19.98) is even better than Joel "Mr.Consistent" Selwood's (20.48).  AND he played all 22 games in a side that is only going to get better.

Yep, that's a lock for me.

roo boys!

I didn't even look at his price tag before locking him in. Cost me dearly not having him this season.

Will be even better this year and a lock in my team!

Why all the love for Cotchin?

Take out Tuck's sub game and he was better than Cotchin, as was Lids.

He finished the year on fire, but he wasn't the best. Beams averaged 145 in the last 8 weeks yet nobody is touching him because he is apparently 3rd in line at Collingwood. Cotchin is 3rd in line at Richmond but he's the one who will cop the tag.

Cotchin is a gun entering the prime of his career, coming off a break out season, made captain and having his first full pre season in a side expected to rise up the ladder. Whats not to love?

Beams isn't as popular because although he had a great season, he played the season without Pendlebury in the side for a large portion of the season and without Luke Ball for the whole season so its unknown exactly what he is going to score like in 2013.

Pendles was out from RD11 to R16...
In these 4 games Beams averaged 115.
When Pendles came back, Beams averaged 145 for the rest of the year

That would be 7 weeks, nearly a 3rd of the season Rico, is that not a large portion of the season? lol.
Yes I know he still scored well with pendles there, my point is that the full midfield didnt play together or really gel like they did the 2 seasons prior.
Beams will likely still be used in the midfield and score very well but theres more question marks over his head than Cotchins at this point dont you think?

Yeh its not really enough games to base a decent argument on. Tbh i rate Beams at #2 in the Pies midfield now
