2012: Summary
Brent Reilly enjoyed his best SC yet running off half-back and is having an even better finals series with 2 games in the bests.  He scored under 70 in 4 of his 22 games and continued his good run with injuries, missing 1 game in the last 3 years.

2013: What to expect
Prediction:
It's hard to put a figure to how helpful the easy draw was in upping the PPG by 15 this year.  However Reilly still presents good value as a backman for the Crows if he regains back eligibility.  I wouldn't expect a huge PPG increase for 2013, presumably Adelaide will have a tougher draw.  Yet his half-back role is SC friendly and he's going into the prime of his career- turning 29 in a month.  There's no reason he can't build on his big September and reach a higher ceiling of about 140.  That would push his PPG up noticeably and make him a valuable contender for your D3/D4.

PPG: 95

has been pretty impressive towards the end of the year, if he picks up being listed as a back will definately be worth a look

quinny88

As a backman he would deffinetly be worth a look

Being better utilized by Sanderson, as opposed to Craig.  Definately in my early calculations for next year.

#8
Reilly's average without the GWS scores of 120 & 123, and without the GC scores of 104 & 101, was 87.3.

If we change his stats and add in the lowest score for each of the GWS and GC encounters (to simulate him playing GWS and GC only once each as several other teams did), his average drops to 89.6.

IMO, when we compare this to Reilly's official 2012 average of 91.8, the difference suggests the affect of Adelaide's slightly-easier draw was minimal.

...but still a no from me.

Not for me. Averages too little
Only 8 defenders averaged more than him this season. How is that too little?

Also for me CF he was still learning the role of half back, played the chop-out, defencive role beautifully, I can see his numbers going up as he is used more coming out of defence

My Chumps

Was really excellent last season. Definietly should've been All Australian IMO.

But, can't see much improvement from him this year unlike other options that I can see uping their average like Broughton, Gibbs, Goddard at a new club, Grimes, Yarran and Hartlett. So I won't be starting with him, but I'll look for him as an upgrade target.

Nice write up Batt.

I think he will just be outside my starting side at the start of the year. I think he has the potential to continue to improve in the half back role, but I'm not sold on him yet.

I will be waiting to look at him as a probable upgrade target though.
