As for Kelly, I've decided not to do a profile on him due to fact he's not eligible to play next year. He'll certainly be one of the first guys I do when it comes to 2014 prospects. Averaged 19.3 disposals in the TAC (including an injury affected game) this year against older bodies. I think it's good he hasn't been picked up in the mini draft, another year racking at the TAC won't do him any harm at all. Not only are him, Hogan and Martin going to be great players but all of them are showing signs they'll be handy DT picks too.

Nathan Wright

Birthday - 16/2/94
183cm/78kg
Dandenong Stingrays
Price/Position - $102,700 Def

Drafted Round 2 Pick 24 St Kilda

Wright is another member of the talented Stingrays group who seems set to be picked up in the draft. An athletic half back, he struggled with injuries at times throughout 2012 but managed to perform well in the Under 18 Champs (his DT scores weren't particularly impressive however, scoring 66, 58, 30 and 60). From his 7 TAC games he was named in the best on 4 occasions and produced scores of 107, 50, 71, 67, 55, 68 and 18 (Ave: 63.8). I predict he could potentially be a mid season downgrade target if his VFL form leads to a senior call up.

Stingrays coach Graeme Yeats says: "He's your classic running half-back type, a bit like Jake Batchelor, but probably a bit more athletic and a bit quicker. He can play on the good smalls, a really tidy player, good run and carry, runs the lines really well."

Kevin Sheehan says: “Medium midfielder/defender who attacks the ball aggressively and rarely fumbles. Strong and courageous in the air, he also excels at the stoppages. Loves the physical pressure of the game, winning contested ball and tackles strongly. Averaged 14.8 disposals and was impressive in his four matches for Vic Country in this year’s Under-18 championships. AIS-AFL Academy member”

Tom Temay

Birthday - 6/2/94
179cm/74kg
Sandringham Dragons
Price/Position - $102,700 Mid

Drafted Round 2 Pick 35 Carlton

Temay is a slightly built defender/midfielder who averaged just under 19 posessions for Vic Metro at this year's Under 18 Championships with DT scores of 131, 62, 80 and 34. He seems to thrive against weaker teams, racking up 30 disposals and 10 marks against Tassie. The same thing happened in the TAC where his standout game was a massive 38 touch, 7 tackle effort vs Eastern Ranges. His DT scores for the entire season were 56, 46, 69, 144, 61, 57, 65, 58, 57, 71 and 32 (Ave: 65.1).

He'll certainly need to hit the weights room before mixing it in the AFL but is one guy to keep an eye on, especially given he's one of the only draftee currently listed as C/B in the Fanplanner.

Kevin Sheehan says: “Small defender/midfielder who is a great competitor and is rarely beaten in a one-on-one contest. Prolific ball winner for Vic Metro averaging 18.8 disposals at 77.3% efficiency in NAB AFL Under 18 Championships. Father Paul played 52 games for St Kilda.”

I've got a few other requests to do first but I'll get around to him eventually. ;)

Is Temay likely to get M/D or is he like a Bugg and Def only? Will be interesting to see who gets a dpp or a backman status!

I'd be very shocked if he wasn't DPP. He's basically a midfielder who's been used in defensive roles at times during the year. I've seen him described in various places as Mid/Def, Def/Mid and even  Mid/Def/Fwd so I don't think CD will have a problem giving him dual status.

Thanks again Mr Craig! The Combine where these guys listed as backs like Vlastuin and Macrae? :o What's going on there? Well it will all change come February or whenever, like a Ben Kennedy, has to be a forward!

Vlastuin might be a chance, after all he was named in the All Australian backline (mind you so was Toumpas). I doubt Macrae will pick it up but we'll see. Kennedy won't have a problem at all getting FWD/MID.

Rory Atkins

Birthday - 12/7/94
186cm/80kg
Calder Cannons
Price/Position - $102,700 Fwd/Mid

Drafted Round 4 Pick 81 Adelaide

I've been meaning to take a closer look at the DT potential of Atkins and today's AFL.com article has spurred me into action. First the negatives - He was cut from the AIS/AFL Academy, has been criticised for his lack of defensive pressure and admits he didn't have a particularly good year. Despite all this he still managed to be named the Cannon's best and fairest in a team boasting Joe Daniher, Jonathan O'Rourke, Lachie Plowman and Adam Saad. He didn't have a particularly productive Under 18 carnival however, playing just 2 games for a 57 and 16.

Rory is capable of getting a heap of the ball and if he still has plenty of room for improvement then he's an exciting prospect indeed. His TAC Dream Team scores of 126, 23, 60, 102, 56, 69, 128, 67, 97, 78, 159, 96, 60, 35 and 71 (Ave: 81.8) suggest that prospective coaches are in for a wild ride should they select him.

Kevin Sheehan says: "Medium forward with very good agility and composure with the ball. Makes good decisions with his disposal either by hand or on his preferred left foot. Plays as a hit-up half forward who is a good overhead mark as well as being clean at ground level. Played two games for Vic Metro and is averaging 21 disposals per game at TAC Cup level. AIS-AFL Academy graduate."
