Jordan Russell
Price: 237 600 (Fan planner)
2012 Games: 7
2012 Ave: 49
Position: Defence

Russell looks certain to be leaving the Blues as a free agent this year. He has not been given much opportunity playing only 7 games for a 49 Supercoach point average this year. Russell does have talent and a change of clubs could bring out the best in Russell who averaged 72 and 86 in 2011 and 10. He was drafted as a number 9 pick and has been Carlton's whipping boy since, but if he does move clubs I think he can have a break out season. At around $240k Russell looks cheap and could be worth the risk.

2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 80

Very much depends on what club he goes to and where he will fit in. Nab cup will show a lot with him.

Even if he goes to another club he may play the same role.

definitely not on my list
awkward price and zero job security

Worth a look if he gets picked up, but its a no at this stage.

Russell didn't get picked up as a free agent. If he gets delisted then he can still just go up and join any club

I imagine Port Adelaide will pick him up! Should be a viable option down back at the price!

I think Port Adelaide would be a really good fit for him. With Chaplin and Pearce gone he'd be very handy coming off half back at the Power. If he ends up there I will strongly consider.

+ 1 will be good for Port and hope they pick him up!

What are his chances of being picked up?

I reckon that's why Port didn't pick him up in the trade period coz they didn't want to give anything up for him and they know no-one is intersted in him so they'll pick him up in the pre-season draft for nothing. They would be incredibly silly not to pick him up. Would be interesting to see what the Port supporters say about him.
