Luke Shuey (West Coast Eagles)    - requested by whatlez

Position: Mid

Price: $447,200

2011 Games: 22

2012 Games: 19

2011 Average: 83.5

2012 Average: 94.7

2012 Tons: 7 (seven 85+)

Big games: Suns (148), Saints (125), Demons (123), Giants (120).

Summary:
Over his first three seasons, Shuey has upped his average by about 10 ppg per year (2010:75, 2011:83.5, 2012:95) so should this trend continue, we will see him averaging over 100 in 2013 for the first time in his career. Struggled a little bit with consistency though, scoring scores of 47 and 39 which were not sub-affected! The 39 was scored against Fremantle where he was well-held by Crowley, suggesting that he will struggle a bit when getting close attention from opposition. Take out these disappointing scores though, and Shuey actually averaged 101 ppg. If he can erase those low-scoring games from his 2013 season, he would be a very worthy pick-up for his price tag, as we can see he has a very high ceiling, and with experience, he will turn many of those high 80's/90's (he had 7) into tons.

Verdict:
Will definitely fit into the super-premium category in a few years, but probably not for me next season. Definitely worth watching if you're after a POD but for me, I think there's already too many great premiums in the midfield to be taking risks on breakout players.

Predicted 2013 average: 105

Two easily tagged out I think and with Kerr retiring soon he'll get even more attention

i agree he'll have to show me that he can break tags before he'll get a spot in my team

Adamant

Massive ceiling, just needs to break those tags and improve his consistency (which he should as he matures).
