And thread has been joined and updated original post thanks to Nigey's fine work.

Hopefully can get this more active after our Premiership winning year 8).

We also bid farewell to one of the biggest stars of this year in Robbie Gray. He was the anchor for our forwards and lead well from the front. He will be missed greatly after we helped him through his injuries until he could finally show his worth. Along with him parting his ways with Iceland after one season is James Frawley, who we thank for his year's service and he was more than happy to prove his worth after being traded to us last off-season instead of possible delisting. Both were vital in Iceland's Season and Finals run.

In their place, we welcome aboard Nathan Fyfe and Cyril Rioli! We hope Fyfe can help bring some stability to our midfield and we will be working with Cyril to try and get his body right and hopefully he can replicate Gray's efforts this season at a later point in time :).

Hellopplz

Well Iceland have been active this trade period in order to fix some problems we have had in the past!

2015:
1. R. Gray + J. Frawley FOR N. Fyfe + C. Rioli
2. J. Griffin FOR J. Adcock
3. R. Stanley FOR A. Kennedy
4. C. Wingard + R28 + R42 FOR D. Swallow + M. Williams + R38

With an overload of forwards playing and midfield problems this season, we sadly have to let go of Gray and Wingard in order for them to pursue opportunities elsewhere :(. Frawley also repaid the faith we showed him last season, chucking him a lifeline and we are happy he can be given better opportunities elsewhere at the Crushers. Griffin was solid backup but couldn't crack the side with Mummy and Stanley similar with our current top players so look for more opportunities elsewhere.

However we're glad to welcome the new players to the side! Nathan Fyfe, David Swallow and Cyril Rioli the big additions. Rioli coming in to fill in the partial void left by Gray/Wingard so hopefully he can string together uninjured games. Fyfe and Swallow enter the side to help the midfield which due to injuries this season did struggle, so will provide much needed backup to Lewis who carried a chunk of the team on his back. Adcock comes in to help as an experienced head to help the defence with Marley and Kennedy entering as future prospects down back, just itchy to earn a spot in the reigning Premiers.

Iceland is now the home of many midfielders. What a change compared to past years :P. Backline + Forward line weakened compared to past years though :(.

Hellopplz

Just a minor roundup so far this off-season!

We bid a farewell to long-serving Polar Bears in Chris Judd and Leigh Adams, both careers cut short due to injuries :(. Judd was handy while Adams was a solid player in his early days at Iceland before succumbing to injuries. We also say goodbye to Rhyce Shaw who played his last season of EXV footy with Iceland to be a stable backman when called upon.

With these retirees, there have also been a few trades so far as we've decided to make a minor push for Finals footy and a better run next season to repeat 2014 Premiership.

Trade 1. N. Cockatoo + J. Lonie + J. Neade + J. Impey + N25 Nat FOR N. Riewoldt + A. Swallow + A. Walker
Review: Giving up alot of our young depth here for some more established names. With our older forwards, Lonie was looking to be a star for us for many seasons to come, but Roo gives that sudden impact which is needed if anticipated DPP changes go against us, meaning we lose two forwards! Andrew joins his brother David who came to Iceland last off season, both hoping to push each other further. Walker has had a rough time past few seasons but is looking to turn it around in a competitive Iceland backline to give him motivation! Neade + Impey need to find consistency while Nakia is going to be missed as we rate him highly and future is bright for him as a player.

Trade 2. J. Watts + R24 FOR T. Hawkins + N40
Jack Watts has been with us since being traded in before the inaugural season, but with the backline not short of players, and in need of forwards for the upcoming season, we must say goodbye and welcome in Tom Hawkins who gives us a reliable forward who'll play every week, with a chance to push into the starting XV should he be able to lift his game.

Trade 3. J. Elliot + M. Williams + N10 + N39 FOR C. Sinclair + L. Jetta + R. Harwood + N17 + N62
A tough trade to do. Elliot was one of the sparks that helped us win that 2014 Premiership and Marley blossomed under us in the one season he has been with us. But due to playing an OOP Ruck most of this season with Mummy out and no reliable backup, Elliot was willing to take on a new challenge in order to help Iceland gain a much needed backup in Sinclair. High hopes for Sinclair to back up Mummy and who's not to say he could carve a name for himself to become our full-time #1! Jetta + Harwood come in to join the backline at Iceland which have so many potentially first teamers, so they will need to up their game and bring consistency (and in Harwood's case, be injury-free) in order to get games. But we believe Harwood could be a good replacement for Marley if fit while Jetta could provide that spark for us. Picks were to even it up and begins with our slide down the order!

Trade 4. N17 + N53 FOR S. Kerridge + N31
Simple trade here really. We still were in need of some forward depth and I rate Kerridge highly. Gave up N17 in order to get him but luckily upgrade N53 to N31 in order to still have a pick in a range that could be useless for our future. If Kerridge can find some games at AFL level, he could be a handy depth player and possibly slot into the Starting XV in a few seasons.

Iceland have gone a bit older to push, but we're still keeping an eye out on the future to make sure the team won't have to go through a full rebuilding phase should a few guys continue their improvement.

Hellopplz

#34
New Draftees at Iceland!

26. Luke Partington

Well rounded midfielder who we believe will fit into our midfield quite nicely for the future and can make waves in a couple of seasons. Couldn't pass him up with this pick even if our midfield didn't need more stocking up.

31. Tom Cole

I believe Cole can turn into something pretty solid if he's played as a rebounding role, also in need of some youth defenders and thought he was most likely for games long term and I like his scope for improvement.

40. Blake Hardwick

Hardwick is a pocket rocket! Iceland is in sore need for young forwards and Hardwick even at Hawthorn could prove to be a nice addition long term as he showed at TAC level how potent he is around goals. Even at 181cm, he marks well rather than crumbs for most of his goals!

49. Harry Himmelberg

Mini Thor! I like Himmelberg's potential even if he's a tall at GWS. Give him a few years and let him work on his game and could become very solid. Also helps look out for the need we have for forwards in the draft, although may not have been best available, scope for improvement as a player is there!

Still calling him Matthew I see.  :P

Carrying on from these!

Trade 5. A. Neal-Bullen + D. Gorringe FOR T. Nankervis + N49
Although I like Gorringe and rate ANB quite hugely, with the current midfield could let ANB get away from us. May find it hard to crack the midfield at the Demons. While with the acquisition of Sinclair, thought I'd go after Nankervis as to gain the Swan rucks!

Trade 6. T. Hawkins + L. Jetta FOR L. Picken + J. Thurlow
Hawkins and Jetta would be solid depth (Jetta a starter should be be a back), but think if Picken can continue on from this year he'll be quite a handy pick up with the challenge for the title. He's risky though, but happy to gain a young back in Thurlow to help the long term of the squad! Badly needed to lock up some youth down back so happy to land a guy I like!

Trade 7. R. Harwood + R10 FOR S. Naismith + J. Waite + L. Spurr
Although I had plans for R10, couldn't pass up the opportunity to land my 3rd Swan ruck of the off season! Harwood has shown good potential when he's fit, and Waite/Spurr increase our age profile however Spurr was used in our last trade of Period 1.

Trade 8. A. Walker + L. Spurr FOR J. Grant + N26 + R25
Figured we were getting quite old, so time to get some youth (sort of)! Spurr is handy depth albeit inconsistent and Walker if he returns to past form could be a jet even if a tad prone to missing the odd game! However, I reckon Suns could use Grant well and could be a handy depth up forward for longer than Walker. N26 was used on Partington so no regrets there! R25 also turns into my first rookie pick so hopefully can land somebody nice there!

Hellopplz

Fairly quiet trade period for the Polar Bears. With the Pendles trade pending, only 1 trade was made prior to this.

N10 + N26 + R10 FOR G. Ibbotson + K. Amon + N13 + N29 + R21

In hindsight, a bit much to give up for depth, but hopefully they are handy depth and reckon can get my guys I am aiming for with the pick downgrades anyway.

With a few retirements and delistings, going to be another nice little rebuild through picks!
