WEST Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui will make a delayed start to pre-season training after booking in for groin surgery.

The 2012 All Australian was hampered in the latter stages of the season with the nagging injury.

It was hoped that Naitanui would be ready to train at full capacity upon resumption this week after the eight-week off-season break, but he was still in some discomfort and consulted a specialist on Wednesday.

As a result, he will be sent into surgery next week to appease the problem.

yeah this may make him as the perfect upgrade target if it does drag on a bit and starts the season a bit slow

I think I'll probably upgrade to him. I had both Maric and Jacobs and I found them to both be good options. Although, Goldy may become a more popular option for those looking for a cheaper option, so I'm thinking either Ivan or Sauce, might just flip a coin.  :P
