Michael Barlow (Fremantle Dockers)   - requested by Matty

Position: Mid

Price: $453,800 (FanPlanner)

2011 Games: 9

2012 Games: 22

2011 Average: 85.8

2012 Average: 96

2012 Tons: 14

Big games: Collingwood (120)

Summary:
The 'Super Rook' of 2010 played a full season in his third year of league footy this year. Whilst not quite reaching the lofty heights of his first season (before it was ended by Reece 'Spud' Palmer), it was solid all the same. Started with a couple of low scores before hitting his straps and bagging six straight tons from rounds 8-14 in the middle of the season. Very consistent over most of the season, you can count on Micky Barlow for a solid score in your midfield most weeks, but the only thing I can criticise him for as a premium midfielder is his not-so-high ceiling, which in my opinion, is not good for a premo mid, as we want them to be averaging close to 110, if not more!

Verdict:
Not for me. Very solid and consistent scorer, as I said, but I would much rather pay a bit extra for a super-premo midfielder (-Murphy is only 30K dearer).

Predicted 2013 average: 99

16 of his 22 games were between 95-120....extreme consistency.
He was the sub in both of his first two games, scoring 52 & 67 after coming on at halftime! take out those, and he averaged 100...
Agree that his ceiling is quite low, and you dont want that in a super premo.
Would definitely rather Murph for 30k extra.

I think he will push 105 average. Very good write up though :)

I don't trust Ross Lyon's style of coaching, not likely to be fielding too many dockers in my side next year.

Imo, Micky will be one of those 100-105 players throughout his whole career.

Quality player but just a notch under elite in fantasy circles :)

I don't know why people say this.
While he was at Saints he turned Goddard, NRoo, Montagna, Hayes, NDS into DT stars
he will do the same to the Freo boys
