It's not offical but Mark Neeld in a bit of a blooper moment on SEN this morning all but accidently leaked that Jack Trengove would win the B&F. I think it is tonight, I thought Jones would be a big chance but perhaps not.

There was a time when one could bet on the B&F, in fact I remember attending Collingwood's 1990 Copeland Trophy and their was a bookmaker in the room taking bets. Obviously things have changed.

We'll see.

Lol really? Is there a link to a website? I could name half a dozen players who have had a better year than the awesome Captain Trenners. Jones would surely have it IMO

Grimey?

IMO, his second half of the year I think might be a little better, if not the same as Jones, but Jones was awesome all year round

I'll put into some additional context.

Neeld was under the pump on SEN answering questions about whether it was a mistake to appoint such young Captains. As one would expect he backed their decision saying they are good leaders and that the club didn't have stronger mid to older aged leaders to choose from.

When David King questioned further on Grimes/Trengove, Neeld stumbled and said "as we'll see tonight, woops, I probably shouldn't say that". Everyone laughed about security of B&F votes.

Maybe this could mean they will feature highly rather than win, but it didn't really sound that way to me. Sorry there are no web links, just what I heard this morning.

I guess we'll see.

One question, if Neeld was referring to Jack it could well have been Grimes? I'm not professing to be a Melbourne expert, is he muh more likely to win than Trengove?

Maybe I should change the threads name to the other Jack?

Justin Bieber

Trengove has had a poor year. Would be embarrassing if he wins it.

Maybe he was referring to Grimes then?

I would think so yes, Grimes is HEAPS more likely to win it IMO

OK well to avoid embarrassment I'll change the thread title - this breaking of news is harder than I thought.  :o

Well looks like the most deserving Jones got it in the end. Well done Jonesy!!!

Grimes came second, and Trengove was in the top 10, so Neeld did give a little clue i think  :P

Whoever set-up this thread and spammed mis-information should be brought to task.  >:(

Glad Jones won. In hindsight I think Neeld was saying Grimes' year had been very good as the B&F would show. I guess second is usually a sign of a good year.
