AUTHORITIES in Las Vegas believe John McCarthy's death was accidental, and are working on a theory he fell from a palm tree.

"Everything's leading towards an accident at this point of time," Bailey said from the gaming mecca.

"We know he was disorientated at the time through some phone calls he had with his girlfriend Danielle."

Investigators are working on the theory that he walked through the casino, took a lift to the fourth floor, and then went through at least two doors, taking him outside onto a roof.

"He then walked to the edge," Bailey said. 

"The evidence is suggesting that he's jumped off that wall to a palm tree, maybe been disorientated at how much the fall was, slipped and has fallen to the ground."

I think he was maybe Drunk its a possability not saying he actually was but to do something as stupid as try to jump on to a palm tree from the top floor not likely that someone sober would do that IMO

Hard to say but probable and you wouldn't hold it against him, I think whether he was roaring drunk or on something shouldn't cloud the fact he was a ripping bloke and it is a tragic loss.

Still his GF probably would have noticed if he was off his tree and she said he sounded pretty normal...

2-3 weeks for the toxicology and we'll know I guess, but it shouldn't change anything, hope it doesn't.

All I will say is, how could a professional sporting club allow 11 young men with heaps of money who don't drink and party all year go to a place like Vagas for the end of season trip? Yes they have free choice but given what I just stated, the club should say, sorry lads go somewhere else ;) you don't go to Vagas with 10 other mates to blow all your money and party by your selves!

that would make the club incredible cows- they probably said, dont get up to any trouble etc.

it's not just port, essendons players were going to vegas too- it's the off season, they can do whatever the flower they want. I'm sure port will be more careful in future and stipulate- dont jump onto palm trees.

Doesn't matter where they go there gonna get flowered up, the port players stayed at my hotel in Bali with me last year and alcohol wssnt the only substance they were on ;)
