This will be my only little write up I'll do. If people could remember very early on in DT 2012 pre-season I was locking this guy into my squad because he has MASSIVE potential....Only thing is he is extremely injury prone.

Xavier Ellis:

2011 Average: 75 (8 games)

2012 Average: 64 (3 games)

Fan Planner Price:
$ 211,500

Position: Midfield (Dunno about this TBH, more of a mid/back?

Summary:

Ellis has so much potential to be a genuine star or at least a serviceable DT option in any side. But constant injuries have plagued his career consistently. Including knee troubles again this year.

On the comeback trail the past few weeks have yielded a respectable 80 & 97 and a 15 which was sub affected. There is no doubt he can play and he scores excellently when on the field. He had an eye catching early performance in the qualifying final against Collingwood, (at least I think so  :P) before copping yet another knock to his ankle. It seems he just has really bad luck.  :P

Really hard to pick someone with his injury history as well as the fact that he really is a fringe player at Hawthorn. But he will be cheap enough to take real punt on if he can hold down a spot, especially with Whitecross out.

If named round one he will be in my team for sure! I said that last year as well.  ::)

P.S:
If anyone calls him "X_Factor Ellis" I'll boo you.  :P I swear this is why he get's injured, it's a jinx. Haha.  ::)

211k...very cheap for what he is capable of. I Remember you talking him up in the pre-season...lucky you didnt take the punt haha.
Probably wont fit him in...going with either 4 premo + 1 mid-pricer or 5 premo + 2 rooks in defence.

I reckon if he changed teams he would have the potential to be a good pickup, I had him a few years ago hoping that he would tear the league a new one if I recall correctly he averaged around 75 and although I was satisfied I haven't picked him since.

Ahh Mr Ellis. Won me my grand final last year when I used my last trade on him to cover birchall. Unfortunately not an option if he's still at Hawthorn.

Tyes

If he is DPP and has a full pre season I am on like donkey kong. Has incredible potential.

Nice write up Windigo, I will be really surprised if he isnt a mid\back.

Me too, I am thinking of going embley/ball as my 5th mid and he would be competing for that spot. Definitely worth considering if he;s a back though.

If he stays injury free i think he has the JS to do well. The DPP makes him more likely but will need to be fit week 1

Couldnt take the risk even at that price. Really struggles with injuries!
