Doesnt look like a good call to start with Goodes. Wont train with the main group for 5 more weeks. Cant see him missing round 1, but may still be a little underdone.

as i said in the other thread, cant see him playing NAB cup now and may miss R1 but will definitely be there for the flag unveiling for R2

He keeps saying that he will play round1, and may play the last NAB. He is underpriced if he plays his midfielder role, but I would think he will play most of the year up forward where a 90-95 score is more likely

I know he's pretty underdone but has a really good start to the year with GWS, GC and North Melb.

Historically (and I say this without checking the exact numbers) but Goodes tends to do his best work against the better teams. He hasnt really dominated GWS or GC that I recall. Also, historically a second half season specialist as he primes up for the finals.

His role is changing at the club, and if I was them, I would have Goodes playing the Tippett role for the first 11 rounds so that everyone can play with the long term structure, even though Tippett is out. Will still get the #1 defender, freeing up Reid, and the resting ruckman.
