Paul Duffield - Fremantle Dockers

Position: DEF

Price: $426,000 (Fanplanner)

2011 Games: 21

2012 Games: 19

2011 Average: 70.1

2012 Average: 82.8 (Including 2 sub-affected games)

2012 Tons: 6

Summary: Duffman had an absolute rollercoaster of a year. He started with a bang, scoring 86, 117, 82, 87 & 114 in the first 7 games, playing the sweeper role across half back. He then got into a horrid patch, averaging 59 over the next 5 games (including getting dropped during the MBR's!). Many people labelled him as "Never Again". However in Rd 17, Duffman exploded...averaging 102 over the last 7 games, including 4 tons + 3 scores 85+. He finished the year with an average of 82.8 (89 if you exclude his 2 sub-affected games of 40 & 30) putting himself into contention for 2013.

Verdict: 50/50 chance of making my team. Duffman will be underpriced for what he is capable of, but im not sure I can fit him in with Goddard, Gibbs, Birch, Grimes & Heppell all putting their hand up for selection.

Ad's predicted average: 88

Thinking of going him or Hanley. Not decided yet.

Definitely Duff, Hanley too inconsistent for my liking.

Ricochet

pretty sure he got subbed in one game and concussed in another so that could add to the roller coaster year
looked really strong across freo's backline towards the end of the year and is a designated kicker

Both in improving sides playing similar roles, could both have ripper seasons. Could both be top 10 defenders come season end

He got sent to hospital in round 2 after being on 40 half way through the 2nd quarter and started as the sub in round 15. So undepriced.

Yeah, I dont mind Hanley...just think he isnt consistent enough yet (10 scores under 69) although he should improve this through natural progression.

Footy_Boiz

With Drummond rumoured to be leaving (saw it on afl trade whispers) could mean more responsibility for Hanley also

Spinking

Am considering but will watch his pre season role before locking in. Massively undervalued if he can replicate some of those numbers in 2013.

Mr.Craig

I have a good feeling about him, definitely worth a shot imo.
