2013 Player Profile: Nic Naitanui

I've almost decided on my rucks already. Starting Nic Nat and Leuey, with Roughead in the forwards as a DPP link.

Definitely more of an SCer, mainly because he wins a higher percentage of contested disposals than any other player in the AFL, but he should increase his DT average which is already pretty impressive.

Shortlisted, but I don't think I'll start with him unless Coxy drops off a lot. I reckon he'll get too many scores around the 60 mark to be a good R1. Going Mummy instead I think.

So interestingly enough at the AA annoncement, they said that in their meetings they have a representative from Champion Data who helps them with stats and stuff. Then during the rest of the night when talking about rucks (which was prolonged due to its controversial nature) it was mentioned several times that Naitanui plays 50% ruck and 50% forward. Now assuming these stats come from CD themselves (who determine the eligibility of the players in both forms of Fantasy Footy) do you think they would be wrong not to give Naitanui R/F eligibility in fantasy footy next year ? That would really throw a spanner in the works I reckon ;)

Agree with this. If the new rule will benefit any player it will be NicNat. Suddenly becomes very relevant.

WEST Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui will make a delayed start to pre-season training after booking in for groin surgery.

The 2012 All Australian was hampered in the latter stages of the season with the nagging injury.

It was hoped that Naitanui would be ready to train at full capacity upon resumption this week after the eight-week off-season break, but he was still in some discomfort and consulted a specialist on Wednesday.

As a result, he will be sent into surgery next week to appease the problem.

If that's true then that'd mean that Cox would be 50% ruck and 50% forwards aswell. Maybe an eagle combo?
