For months Melbourne have been offering 4 year deals like party bags yet no one seems Intrested first was Travis Cloke then Neeld decided he didn't want him than David McKay and now Danyle Pearce, Angus Monfries and Jordan Russell (Monfries in exchange for Gysberts)

You have to feel sorry for Melbourne they have been down the bottom for so long and they still haven't got it right, So much pressure has been put on Watts but it's not his fault other young stars need to lift.

Now with Moloney wanting out, Jurrah quitting and Rivers set to explore other clubs this will drop your development back even further and could be at the bottom for another 4-5 years.

Who would you think would take the 4 year deal worth over 1 million dollars?

Monfries is a required man but losing Gysberts after Moloney quit will be tough so If I were Neeld I would try and get him as a free agent otherwise pursue elsewhere but where and who?

Rivers is news to me.

Monfries? pfft. We are trying to get rid of spuds. Russell might be worth looking at.

I hope we get Chris Knights, Clinton Young and Josh Caddy, but a million dollar signing? Would love it to be Goddard personally.

Also Lucas Cook is going to be either traded or delisted. Another top pick wasted -.-

You know what? Being a melbourne supporter sucks lol, but I could never see myself leaving them.

One day hopefully, we will start our rise.

rumours are Monfries has signed a four year deal with Demons already

IMO, Chris Knights to Richmond, Clinton Young to North, Josh Caddy to Essendon (finally).

Can't see any of them going to Melbourne, sorry P77.

And yes Lucas Cook is leaving. North and Cats said to be interested.

Maybe just a rumour about Rivers but he is a hood player and I did here he deserves better I can't remember who said it though so don't quote me on the Rivers statement.

Monfries is a waste if he is there big signing can't get them out of the gold they dug themselves in.

All good mate it might be shambulls anyways  :)

Ricochet

with so much young talent that melbourne have, do they need another big signing?? i know a few have left but with Clarke being fit again, and guys like Watts, Magner, Howe, Grimes, Trengrove, etc developing further, surely all Melbourne's talent is right in front of them

Cicjose

i thought the big signing was for a new coach?

Shannon byrnes also linked to the Dees, is a good fit for Melbourne IMO

Really? He's 28 and not the most spectacular player to be honest. Yes, he's solid but he isn't going to make losses wins so all he'll really do is keep a younger kid out. Bad move.

Losing Green and Moloney from an already VERY young side leaves them lacking experience, they need a couple of old heads.

Haha lol, should have still been playing for the dees in 2012, disgusting how that turned out. And yeah with experience leaving, we need more to teach the younger kids. I think Neeld (and I tend to agree with everything he does), is employing a strategy that will see the demons not necessarily recruit stars, but just half a dozen or so players that can play the game. Doing this gives the younger boys more people to look up to and model themselves towards, instead of the whole team chasing and relying on one player, sort of like Ablett to the Suns.
