How is it a knee-jerk reaction? How many soft tissue injuries have the bombers had this year? Who else does the blame fall on other than strength and conditioning? This is professional sport, and what he did with the bombers clearly didn't work...

agreed, totally knee-jerk. They (Hird) came out at the start of the year stating how tough the preseason was and how much they would benefit from it... you can't expect to have one massive preseason of bulking and then expect the young players to come out and win grand finals... it will take time. The bombers will be see the effects of the 2011/12 preseason next year and will be very strong imo
