Toby Greene played for games and averaged more... but Zorko was a fwd and for many, he was played as F7 and meant one less player to upgrade.
So Zorko

stew42

Zorko just edges ahead of Gibson because he's DPP. Gibson was the perfect replacement for when Swannie was out (not that I actually did that...)

Zorko great year, Sam Gibbo provided some great late form for those who needed cover, Giles was a great second Ruck most of the year but....

Toby Greene was simply amazing, last 9 games had under 30 possessions once (29)

Zorko for me. I got him in a F8 with Dusty F7, but there was a patch when dusty was suspended by the club, Robbo and buddy both out, where he stepped up and continued to score premium scores.
He saved me many headaches and probably a couple of trades.

Greene was by far the better pick, he helped less teams because not that many people had him. I had both and Greene was a much better pick.

Mr.Craig

Impossible to look past Greene. 18 year old kid who played 19 games and was 8th in the league for average disposals beating out the likes Cotchin, Dangerfield, Selwood and Mitchell. We always expected Zorko to do great things given his skill and experience but Greene was a surprise packet who gave us great scores and a massive price rise.

We were spoilt to have two prolific DT'ers debut in the same year.

it has to be green, as stated above, or giles.
Giles- 8th overall points for rucks, 7th highest average for rucks that played over 20 games
Greene- just inside top 50 overall points mids, 34th highest midfield average (19 games played)
Zorko- 36th for overall points forwards, 9th highest forward average.

Green averaged about 15 points more than the second highest rookie competitor gibson (yes, I'm just estimating)
Zorko averaged about 12 higher than second highest forward competitor Treloar

Giles- average 82, 20 games
rookie rucks this year (from memory)-
Campbell- 46, 7
Jenkins- 61, 11
Redden- 59, 9
Stephensen- 52, 8
Longer- 57, 5

I think that's about it?
so giles played 9 more games than his nearest positional rookie competitor, and averaged over 20 points more.

clear winner.

if you dispute this, you're wrong.

imagine having to go into this season with 2 pricey rucks- mcevoy, mumford, leuen, sandiland, mcintosh, Ryder, all went down with LTIS, while players like goldstein just sucked. Unless you went like cox/ maric, you would have been forking out like 300k+ extra cash by not starting giles.

Giles, Gibson, Greene and Zorko would be top 4

I would say a tie between Gibson and Zorko both played extremely well in the latter part of the season and Gibson played well in the Finals.
