With both players entering the new season at the ripe old age of 30 are they too old to be selected or are they capable of playing out a good season?

Affliction

I would look at Boyd still but maybe not in the starting team. Other midfielders have gone past Mitchell now.

Hagebear

I'll definately be picking boyd again next year. Just so consistant, high ceiling and shouldnt cop a tag (Griffen). Mitchell on the other hand looked a little out of sorts this year. Still averaged over 100 but I think there will be better options next year.

Kellogscrunchynut

I wasn't going to pick either of them at the start of next season, but Boyd will be on of my upgrade priorities and Mitchell will also be on the radar.

KoopKicka

Boyd will definitely be an upgrade target if he does what he did this year :)

DT Sainter

boyd for sure, still pumping out the same awesome scores. mitchell no, i picked him over cotch mid season and just shows the difference between youth and age, mitch has been overtaken my many mids now imo.

Spinking

Won't start with either. Mitch not a super premium, and Boyd will be too expensive. Will look to upgrade to either depending on form.

Better value mids out there to start with.

Words cannot describe how happy I am to have gone cotch over Mitchell when replacing murph!

I would only consider boyda-he will be fighting for my M4 against A. Swallow, Pendles, Watson, Deledio I'd say...

LaHug

Agree with what most are saying. Boyd as an upgrade target, Mitchell a no go unless he shows good form.

Yep!
Don't think Mitchell will be worth it, seems to handball a lot, and can really show inconsistency at times, sometimes he's just not on the ball and has a bad day!

Boyd will depend on his price, likely to be too expensive and there will be other better value mids. Very consistent and always gunning it though, even if his team is horrible. Carries his whole team like a captain should.

Shihan7

Boyd is still an upgrade option, but no to mitchell.

tbagrocks

Don't know why anyone would've picked up a cheap Mitchell this year, and Priddis to, if these guys aren't scoring 110+ then your not in the ball park really

Ricochet

the plan for me is Swan, Ablett, Beams, Cotchin, Lids and Pendles so no real room for Mitchell at all. If Boyd is showing no signs of a drop off i might squeeze him in for Pendles or Lids

I upgraded to Mitchell early this year because he is a proven ton scorer, and he played well for every game but one for me. I wasn't too far behind the eight ball as I had 5 other premium mids and gun forwards. I agree with what most people have said, I won't be starting with either of them but may upgrade to Boyd.
