I know everyone will be looking at desperately making their last trade/s (assuming they have any left) before the last round for the year - don't worry, so am I - but I am also in somewhat of a reflective mood and have been looking back on all of the trades I made throughout this past season.

Looking at my trades history, I tried to rate each of my trades a simple 'good' trade or 'bad' trade. I found this an interesting exercise as I realised my DT & SC trading was very different. In SC I traded hard and early making my mistakes early, whilst in DT I was more reserved, holding onto more trades but making more blunders during the middle-latter stages of the season (& more overall).

So that all being said, I was interested in how other people judges their trades.

Having used 23 trades thus far, I rated 20 as good and 3 as bad. I may be being generous, but that is just the way I interpreted the trades I made.

Interested to see how others mark themselves...

I've used 23 so far as well. 15 good and 8 bad. Some terrible trades, including paying top dollar for Scotty T when Murphy went down and getting in Michael Johnson at a high price and watching him spud it up since. And annoyingly, getting in Ryder who played one game then went out injured.

Worst Trades:

- Ablett > Murphy: Did this last minute when Ablett was to miss his second week. Made Murphy captain too when they were playing the Giants and he only got 80 odd, then injured his shoulder a few weeks later. Probably the worst trade I've done in my SuperCoach career in hindsight

- Malceski > Hibberd: I got sick of Malceski not making the team so side-swapped him to Hibberd who I thought would make a great unique D7. Malceski was a late inclusion that week and tonned up while Hibberd scored a measly 50 and got injured a few weeks later.

- Mumford > Sandilands: Won't get getting either of these guys again. I reckon in the first 8 weeks of the season I only had Giles playing in the ruck department (with Big O and Redden occasionally). But these guys caused me to lose games early.

Best Trades:

- Coniglio > Priddis: Paid only 464k for Priddis who turned out to be my most consistent & durable midfielder after Ablett. Couldn't be happier with his scoring

- Ledger > Treloar: Made this call after Treloar played his second game which was pretty big at the time. A lot of people were saying to let Treloar go and hold your rookies a bit longer. But I'm glad I did this trade! He's averaged around 100 while filling in for Buddy and now Nick Riewoldt.

- Fyfe & Goodes > Sidebottom & Dangerfield: I had Goodes and Fyfe go down to injury early on and after heaps of stuffing around decided to grab Sidebottom and Dangerfield to replace them. Both exploded in the the first month of trading them in and are now my first 2 fowards.

Trading really sucked for me this year, but have learnt lots of lessons for 2013

i genuinely dont think i've made any terrible trades of the 23 i've made so far. maybe one or two iffy ones (hall->smedts when smedts was on his bubble and hall was dropped), and one or two that didn't bear fruit right away (pendles not long before he got injured), but none that i've just thought "wft was i thinking"? except perhaps NDS when he dropped to 500k for the first time.

starting the season with dickson, ledger and caddy were bigger mistakes.

Yer it is a good trade and Carrazzo has been great but traded out Spurr when he was $162,500 and not getting games and was going to trade Dickson or Smedts instead
