Its funny how quickly it can all turn around. They were flag favourites for a brief period earlier this season then injury struck and the first person that gets the blame is the coach.
Man if Essendon took this approach everyone in the place would be out the door

We had a lot more injuries, our list is not as far along in development & our coach/coaching staff have had & blown far less chances than Ratten did.

PowerBug

I think if Matthew Primus got sacked after losing to GWS, on the back of turning 3 wins into 5, turning 30 goal losses to 5 goal losses, coming back from 5 goals down against a top 8 side and winning and overall improing the side by heaps, i think Ratten deserves to be sacked considering he stated top 4 at the start of the year, and isn't even going to make finals, losingto GC just topped it off.

Ziplock

the primus sacking was just a ridiculous insulting joke, and anyone with half a brain knew it (so, in saying that, most port supporters backed it of course).

Justin Bieber

Who does Port even have now? Some loser?

(This is probably why I get so much hate) lol.

JBs-Hawks

Has he been officially sacked? Footy show just said he'd been sacked?

Its funny
Yes it is.

Already Ratten has been instilled as a front runner to challenge Eade for the Power gig, but Brett seems unperturbed...

The Players are now blaming themselves for Ratten getting the sack just a little part of the article

CARLTON veteran Heath Scotland has spoken of the anguish felt by Blues players in the wake of Brett Ratten's sacking on Thursday.

Ratten was informed on Wednesday that he would not be coaching Carlton next year, just four days after the club's finals hopes were dashed by the shock loss to Gold Coast.

Scotland was among the players to witness Thursday's emotion-charged press conference at Visy Park, where the news was made official, and he admitted there was a sense of responsibility among his teammates.

"It's disappointing for everybody. I believe we're a good side that had a chance to be playing finals, but we've thrown away [that] opportunity and a man's lost his job because of it," Scotland said.

"We haven't sat down and had a formal chat about it, but you speak amongst each other and everyone's feeling like crap.

"It's a horrible situation.

so they should imo...

the coach can only accept so much responsibility for losing games like that - take the richmond vs gcs game for example: while dimma should have had cotchin on field at the final bounce, it is just as much the players' faults for not being able to apply the basics of footy: stick tackles, and houli just needed to pressure and spoil khunt!

feel sorry for the bloke, been unlucky this year and think it was pretty unjust he copped all the shower for carlton's poor form
