I got one pick of the round and it wasnt even my pick.

The chappy Nroo burgoyne for Ward Longer Malceski was heavily bagged out but now its looking like a decent trade despire all 3 of the old guys pefroming and i would say part of the reason why Maca is in the grand final.

3 duds of the round. To be honest my forward line was soo bad that IZZy playing 12 games actually saved me from a zero so he was a good pick.  Sierakowski was a long term pick and ugle was just a spud.

Top work Ossie  :)

Votes are locked at 7-7  :o

Should be a close contest  :)

Was 7-4 at one point the Suns favour, not 7-10 Cobras... late money!

ROK Star a Striking Cobra

After a slow start to the season, Cape Town Cobra Ryan O'Keefe has been a key player in the Cobras 10 match winning streak. But it won't mean a thing unless they make it 11 in a row.

O'Keefe started the year slowly, missing the opening game. He wasn't named in the Cobras best until Round 8, but after that was in the Cobras best for 8 of the next 11, with the only Cobra loss being to Minor Premier Sao Paulo by a point. It was enough to earn him an All-Worlds nomination, but his slow start probably kept him out of the final team. O'Keefe was also awarded the Finals Champion Medal for the Cobras' Preliminary Final win over Buenos Aires.

Suns v Cobras - The League's First Big Rivalry?

The Suns and Cobras will be the first teams to meet each other in an official match for the 3rd time. Currently, the ledger is at 1-1. The Cobras are on a 10 match winning streak and have a midfield the envy of the Worlds, while the Suns have experienced champions on every line.

So how did it play out the 2 times they met?

Round 7

Cape Town Cobras (20.15.135) lost to Mexico City Suns (22.18.150)

Best
Cape Town: J Watson, J Selwood, T Cotchin, G Broughton, JP Kennedy
Mexico City: N Foley, A Sandilands, J Lewis, I Maric, B Goddard, Brad Ebert, P Chapman

The Cobra midfield was the usual consistent self, but it was the other lines that fell down. While the Suns oldies were at there best.

The Cobra forward line of O'Keefe, L Thomas, Hawkins and Sylvia only managed 244 between them, and there defense of Broughton, Grimes, A Johnson and Guthrie (280) didn't do much better.

Meanwhile, the Suns had contributors from just about everybody, with only Waite and Gilbert disappointing.

Mexico City Suns (19.14.128) lost to Cape Town Cobras (22.16.148)

Best
Mexico City: J Bartel, J Lewis, Brad Ebert
Cape Town: T Cotchin, JP Kennedy, J Watson, R O'Keefe, J Grimes

Late Changes
Mexico City: Nil
Cape Town: Nil

A few weeks ago, just about everything went wrong for the Suns. With off-days to just about everybody despite a pretty strong team, and a season-ending injury to forward Nick Riewoldt.

Meanwhile the Cobra midfield was unstoppable with Cotchin, JPK and Watson scoring a mammoth 682 points between them from just 3 players (Cotchin captain), and that was pretty much game over. If they repeat this effort, they will be hard to beat.

The Cobras lost at home to the Suns in Round 7.

The Suns lost at home to the Cobras in the Qualifying Final.

Who will win at the Neutral venus?

Ruck crisis set to continue for Cobras

The Cobras have 4 specialist ruckmen.

Zac Smith, clearly the club's best, is injured for the year.

Promising young Max Gawn also injured for the year.

While Andrew Browne and Broc McCauley simply aren't ready for senior fantasy football.

This means the Cobras will go into the biggest game of the year with a specialist ruck, and it won't be easy to cover.

In four matches without a ruck, the Cobras have played Craig Bird twice (36 and 43), Ed Curnow (18) and Jeremy Cameron (53). Cobras coach My Chumps has a difficult decision ahead.

Maybe I can loan MC Sam Jacobs for the day in the agreement that Trent Cotchin will move to the Pumas next year. Sound fair? :)

McLean Aims for Flag Glory

Success has aluded Brock McLean for many years, but that might all be about to change come this weekend. It looked like another year in the wilderness for McLean, but his form has been outstanding since he returned to the Mexico City Suns line-up in Round 11 of this year, averaging a whopping 110 and being named in the best 7 times.

When Nathan Foley went down early in the year, many thought that would leave a massive hole in the Suns line-up, but it coincided with McLean's return, and has proved the perfect replacement.

Can McLean add success to this year?

Been busy the past week and I only just found out who the Grand Finalists are! :o :o

Commiserations to the Pumas...that's gotta be tough.  :-\

Armadillos, battlers all the way, awesome effort.

I've always said that the Mexico City Suns are probably the early favourites for the flag. No pressure Maca.  ;)

Will my prediction hold true? :o
