You know Matthew Knights got sacked for a season like this....just saying...

Our coaching staff now is still a lot better than it was though.

Nobody on our entire list has played every game, and only 4 games have played 20 or more...

Of course it can't all be put down to injuries, the team has looked 'broken' for the last 2 months, but when you can't put the same team on the park 2 weeks in a row it will take its toll eventually.

agreed, the intense pre-season took it's toll on the players, you guys will be better for it in the long run though, next season I can see you being a force

I feel the entire team needs to get on the same work rate as each other.

From the 4 or 5 games I've seen Essendon play this season (and from the stats) the workload just falls too heavily on the likes of Watson, Stanton and Hurley to the point where they just burn out. Nowadays teams aren't carried by individual efforts but team oriented efforts. That's why this year there was a gap between clubs like Collingwood, Adelaide, Sydney etc. and teams such as Carlton, Essendon and Richmond.

How you go about fixing it I don't know but sticking with the coaching staff would be crucial

Only because the club has decided to spend the money and support Hird, unlike Knights.

It's very hard to be a coach coming from outside the club like Knights did. He was very harshly done by. He was left a crap list when Sheedy left, and they recruited well, thus he's left Hird and Bomber a lot better list, and we're still the same.

The difference between why Hird has had no knockers compared to Knights is because he's a club legend, thus he is given more of an opportunity. Seems a little unfair if you ask me...

I agree Fletch. Youre "B" grade players will step up and be better in the next year or so. By the way, I've heard that Knights has been getting rave reports from our caoches about how he's handled our resees. He knows exactly what Scott wants and is delivering.
The faceless men on the team boards have too much say in relation to who coaches the team. They know nothing. We were going to sack Bomber in 2006 remember.
