and to be fair, most elite athletes don't go super well at school- not necessarily because they're not smart, but because they put so much time and effort into training for their sport. At my school, we probably had 3 people in the grade who were good enough to compete at an national or international level for sporting- one of them ended up focusing on her school work and pretty much stopping athletics, another was a real work horse and somehow managed to keep up her grades and her training to a degree, and tbh I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the next olympics, while the third pretty much stopped focusing on school and recently made his NRL debut.

I completely digress though lol.
