Sad news about Josh Toy

BREAKING NEWS:

Its been reported that Gold Coast youngster Josh Toy has a serious heart condition called congenital heart block which could potentially destroy his promising career.

His midfield ambitions look all but over, as the heart condition largely restricts aerobic ability.
Looked like a very promosing young footballer. Hopefully it's not too serious and he is ok

The Dogs can have Koby Stevens in exchange for Pick 21.

Thank you.

:D

I doubt the Bulldogs would give up a first round draft pick for a player who wasn't considered in the Eagle's best 22 and was that far down in the pecking order that players like Swift, Brennan and McGinnity were being chosen ahead of him

DAY 9 WRAP

It seems as though the days are getting longer, because it was another day of waiting. As expected it picked up in the afternoon, so as such here are the latest whispers

CHRIS DAWES -
Rumour has it that he is headed to the kennel, (If he wasn't already in it at the pies!) and that Collingwood and the doggies have agreed to terms on the young key forward. It initially started out as picks 21 and 41 for Chris Dawes, however the dogs felt it was a little bit too much, and as such the pies have thrown in pick 39 to get the deal across the line. Mark Robinson and Damian Barrett believed that we would get confirmation on the deal late this afternoon, but to no avail. They strongly believe now that it will be done tomorrow morning.

In essence, Chris Dawes and pick 39 to the Western Bulldogs for pick 21 and 41.

The result; The doggies get a key forward they've been screaming out for, and the pies now become a scary prospect having picks 17, 18 and 21 all inside the first round.

CLINTON YOUNG -
Herald Sun journalists today spoke about how Clinton Young was not confident in moving interstate, and that he was very impressed with Collingwood's facilities. He's just about a lock to get to the pies, but Collingwood are waiting on other deals to get done, (namely Dawes). Instead of arriving at Collingwood through free agency, the pies will offer Hawthorn a second round pick which is the word doing the rounds.

JOSH CADDY -
Finally!!! It's taken the better part of 12 months, but the deal is done and Caddy is now a cat. Great news for Geelong supporters!!

LACHIE HANSEN -
A few clubs lurking, but nothing solid has been spoken of. Could go to GWS for nothing as an uncontracted player, but word is that North are trying to offer him the money he wants, which is why Edwards, Pederson and McKinley are on the table.

Fremantle are rumoured to be interested, and from what I've been made aware of, Zac Clarke will be packaged up in a deal.

SCOTT GUMBLETON -
Fremantle's list manager said on trade week radio that Gumbleton had already had a medical test in Perth and that they've already begun negotiations with Essendon. There was also some speculation that Carlton had also given him a medical test which he allegedly failed - perhaps they're taking an ultra cautious approach? The doggies have cooled off interest in Gumbleton, and given they've got their hands on Dawes, they don't need him.

DAVID HILLE -
It's likely he'l retire as he alerted the club today that he'd make a decision on his future in the coming week. He has no known offers on the table from any other club at this stage.

BRENT MOLONEY -
Great news for Beamer who pending a fitness test, which is very likely, he will become a Brisbane player for 2013. It's great news for the Lions who missed out on Tippett, but have added another strong bodied and seasoned player to their relatively young midfielder.

DYLAN ROBERTON -
Still linked to the pies, but no other news to report. There are other deals that need to get done or finalised before the pies take him with either a trade with Fremantle or select him in the draft.

BEN JACOBS -
Port Adelaide officials have said that both Jacobs and Thomas are required players, and haven't told the club of any desire for a trade. They're either lying, or we're all getting conflicting reports, either way, it's annoying!

JORDAN GYSBERTS -
Looks headed for Geelong with the cats' third round pick. But given the shuffling of picks between the suns and cats for the Caddy deal, it's not certain what pick Geelong will offer Melbourne. Now that Caddy is out of the way, more attention might be turned to him, in an attempt to get him to the cattery.

HAMISH MCINTOSH -
it's quite possible we're told that this deal may no go through anymore. The Cats are shuffling picks with the suns, which haven't yet been made official but if the cats don't have a good enough pick to offer North Melbourne, the roos won't trade him. Could it mean another team comes into the picture? Geelong want Hmac bad, and might get involved in a 3 way trade to get it done. We'll know more once the Caddy deal is final and official, including the pics involved.

CAM PEDERSON -
Another player we're getting the run around with. As we stated earlier, we're getting conflicting reports on where he will end up next season. It'll be either Collingwood or Melbourne, but Damian Barrett believes he'll get to Melbourne. Watch this space

JARED RIVERS -
With Caddy out of the way, Rivers has got to be the next person they turn their attention to. He's rumoured to be considering whether to stay at Melbourne or to make the transfer up the highway. I think he'll get to Geelong.

KURT TIPPETT -
No more advancements to report on, but Sydney want Lewis Jetta as a straight swap. Whether that's just "Tippett for Jetta" or "Tippett for Jetta + pick 22" remains to be unseen. Sydney don't want to budge, but to get Tippett they may have to. Jetta was sported in Adelaide yesterday, so make of that what you will.

MITCH BROWN -
He's not homesick, the lad just wants more opportunity, and I believe him. No point hanging around being a "depth player" biding your time, in and out of the side every couple of weeks, when you'd be straight into the best 22 at the saints! Scott Watters is beefing up a deal to get him to St Kilda and I think the saints will get their man. He is only destined for the Saints, and has no intentions to play with his brother Nathan at the pies. The saints are likely to offer up their compensation pick for losing Goddard, and will probably throw something else in just to get it over the line. It will become a bit more clearer in the coming days.

KOBY STEVENS -
The saints look the most likely suiters at this stage, but Stevens is a victim of the bigger dogs getting signed up first. He's taken the back seat in comparison to some other deals, but I think he'll be someone in the second week we'll hear a lot of.

STEPHAN GILHAM -
Another player who's future is pending on other trades and movement via free agency. He's linked to the suns at this stage, and that's about all we really know at this stage. His name will get mentioned more next week.

That's it for day 9 folks!
