Whyyyy do GC and GWS get first pick at players in their own areas? For instance, the three guys mentioned below

Boston, Bourke & Cameron showing off their first ever football cards. All these 3 blokes are from Queensland, tipped to go late first round to early second round.

However, Gold Coast can take all 3 as Queensland zone selections. All 3 have had a great combine.

Pfft Bourke is shower, and will go to Geelong on F/S if they want and Cameron would probably not get drafted, however, has gone really well in the Combine so fair. Boston would go high though.

Yeah but why do Gold Coast get first preference ? Why can't Adelaide and Port Adelaide get first go at SA players as well ?

yeah like lez said its a part of the AFL trying to make the expansion clubs more competitive by having first access to local talent... but this draft is the last time gc allowed to pick zone players, and I think GWS only gets one more shot at it next year...

Collingwood to hand over Luke Rounds and Chris Dawes to Melbourne in exchange for Pick 13 and Stefan Martin

Melbourne losing out there IMO

Actually would be a dream come true!!!

Would not say Bourke is shower Lez - Geelong have said they do not want him so he may be headed Suns way. Seen a couple of Morningside games and he does not look too bad bit raw will develop. Bit ironic that GC get to pinch him under the zone rules though.

Yeah he has gotten better and has been awesome in the Combine. I used to play against him and was alright, but we would win :P

"ADELAIDE will attempt to work a trade with the Sydney Swans after Kurt Tippett accepted a conditional four-year deal to join the 2012 premiers on Saturday."

Now we can see how the other pieces fall. Caddy the next one.
