Yeah we were thinking really long term with the acquisition of Tom Boyd.

I wouldn't expect him to be a gun in this game for until at least 2016, maybe later. Looks a 10 year gun kpp prospect though.

Smith is a good midfielder, starter for most teams, and breaking out this season but the chance to grab Boyd given the +12 for goals was too good to pass up. Also I don't think Smith will ever be in that really elite bracket in this game though I could be wrong.

Trade has just worked out well for both sides I think.

We were always going to struggle this year. We also got Murdoch for Enright in the Crocodiles deal which looks a good one for us as Boris has looked a bit past it this season and Murdoch has finally cemented his spot in the Cats team (watch for a breakout next season :P)
