That cost more than it needed to. rogue's affiliate bumped him up (understandable as rogue's main is in my SOD league) and Devil's Advocate which is in Div 4 also chucked on bids (Not understandable). But $410k later, I have a bowler that is better than Zahra.

The wage will hurt and probably cost more than what he'll provide, but I reckon he's worth it. Should serve you well.

Really? By my count he'll end up spec/spec with secondaries. He'll never be a first team player for a club like Q's, but you only need 11 guys that are first XI.
Depth is important, and it doesn't need to be as good as your top players. Decent investment anyway, the talent will carry through his career and Q can flip him for 100+ with ease down the track.
Have some foresight.
