APL Round 1 - It Begins!!

Welcome everybody to round 1 of the 2012/13 APL season, and what a cracker it is sure to be!! With the first round of the EPL almost completed we have been able to have a look at our players and judge whether they are worth keeping or should be shown the back door, and so we are just days away from the start of our own competition! :D

Unlike last season there will not be a separate thread for naming the teams. This year I will just make 1 thread per round that will be used to post your teams, check the fixtures, have some banter and finally find out the winners each round. I think this will just make the board a little cleaner with less threads clogging it up :)

So to the fixtures of the round...

Round 1
Scaling Saints vs The Brown Trumpets @ The Dental Clinic
The Flippin' Pancakes vs The Casserole Kids @ WACA
KKS United vs Blue Mountain State @ Spin-Kick Arena
YNWA Warriors vs Goodfellas @ YNWA Park

The biggest fixture of note for the round is the rematch of last years grand final between BS and DG. In that game we saw DG come home with the trophy after a 1 point win and I'm sure he would love to start off his defense with a win. BS was fuming and will be hoping the HGA will aid him in his quest for the win.

Trade Cut Off Point
For players to be eligible for round 1 they mus be traded in to your team before midnight Thursday 23rd August. Trades after this wont be eligible until the following round.

Team Submission
Your team sheet must be submitted in this thread no later than midnight Friday 24th August. In future rounds if your team is not submitted then your team from last week will be used. For the first round since there is no previous team your team will be selected in order of when they were drafted, with your first drafted player being named captain. Team structure is identical to the official game and must be adhered to. This means:
•   The starting 11 must have ONLY 1 keeper named
•   The starting 11 must have AT LEAST 3 defenders named
•   The starting 11 must have AT LEAST 1 forward named
•   The bench must be named in order of your preferred replacements, starting with your reserve keeper, and followed by the remaining 3 players.

Also a reminder that after midnight on Thursday you only get 2 trades per round. Check the rules thread for clarification on how these can be used :)
