For the second week running, Nick Maxwell has made some eye brow raising team selections..

Last week he put Roughead on the bench, without even the emergency tag, when he was still named in the squad, yes it was strongly rumoured that he wouldn't play, but he didn't even use him as an emergency!?

Then this week, he selections Mitchell as an emergency, when Hawks are facing GC - Mitchell should score well. He puts Greene in the midfield, instead of Mitchell?

I was having a laugh at this last night to some mates, then I woke up this morning to read the headline.

"Mitchell out of Gold Coast clash".

He obviously knows more then we do :)

He did something similar last year or the year before when he benched a player who everyone thought was playing but turned out to be a late withdrawal, and I think it was with a Hawthorn player then too (may have been Sam Mitchell again - some people called it "The Maxwellgate Scandal"). My guess would be that Nick Maxwell is good mates with either Mitchell or someone else in the Hawthorn camp, and they secretly share inside info before games as long as the Hawks aren't playing the Pies that week.
