18 or not.. There best forward, number 1 draft pick and one of there best mids
I know they are injured but they would be able to play but they dont want to win anyway so they have chose to put them in for surgery early.

A heavy workload during the season for the teenagers in their first year in AFL football. I think you're better off having the surgery immediately to get whatever it is out of the way and have them fit and ready for a massive pre-season (particularly in the weights room for Cameron  :P).
Good decision by Sheeds, not tanking.

it's not that they don't want to win, it's probably that they can't and there's no reason to further injure a player. As chumps said, they're getting them ready for the pre-season and 2013. Have you seen our injury list? we're completely devastated atm, there's no way we're going to win, so don't risk it.

Like atm- Backs: Mohr, Frost, Townsend
Mids: Ward, Palmer, Coniglio, Shiel, Greene, Reid, Mcdonald
Rucks: really just Brogans body generally failing him
Forwards: Patton, Cameron, O'hAilpin, Folau, Adams.

All of those players are  in, or at worst, very close to, our best 22. That's ridiculous.

no point in damaging patton and cameron further.
