Article from Damian Barrett about the incident and he believes it should be overturned.
So it should!! MRP is a joke!!

Dave085

Does he not contradict himself in the explanation here???

"If it was any other player other than his brother, you wouldn't have any issues with it. Because it's the brothers, it makes a bit of difference, I suppose, to the way people view it, but we think it's an unnecessary act."

Is he suggesting that if it was any other player they wouldnt have looked at it, or is he saying that if it was any other player we wouldnt question the reprimand????

I do agree that this act should be frowned upon. Also, i noticed that Christensen (I think it was him??? correct me if im wrong) hurt his shoulder early in the game and was in obvious discomfort, yet a sydney player was giving him some unnecessary contact...

Yeah, I saw that on AFL 360.  Robbo said that one was worse, and I agree.  Why didn't they look at that one?  The MRP is full of inconsistencies like this.

Eh he shouldn't really of pushed him.

Although it was funny  :D

Selwood was still on his haunches after the hit when he got pushed whereas Christo had clearly decided to play on. At that point I'm pretty sure Christensen was even lining up around a ball up or something. At that point it should be all fair to test him out within the rules of the game. By the looks of it they are trying to protect players that are injured and are either looking to leave the ground or assess the damage, when a player decides to play on it should be open season

what about the montagna incident last year, when he bumped a player who had a broken collar bone and was trying to leave the field?
didhe get weeks for that? (honestly cant remember lol.) he deserved them anyway. Same situation, except this time the player wasn't injured. Just because their brothers doesn't mean flower all, an injured player is still an injured player.

It's completely different.  The Montagna case the player was trying to leave the field.  The Selwood case he got up and went over right away and gave him the smallest of shoves.  No way it deserved a reprimand.  I don't even care if they're borthers or not, the decision is a poor one.  No wonder our great game has the label of "soft" these days.  A complete joke is all that situation was.

what? yeah, it's worse than the montagna one... the selwood one, firstly, he pushed him over completely, it wasn't a small shove =, and in the montagna one at least it was obvious the player wasn't injured enough to not be able to walk...
