As for Franklin, this is silly talk if he was on 3 strikes or not going to play AFL again he wouldn't be named! The coaches and teams may play cloak and dagger with player injuries and resting but the Hawthorn football club isn't going to make a laughing stock out of itself Franklin will play this week and there is no story other than the usual football club stuff i just mentioned.

Think it is for the best and in the best interests of confusing new coaches on the rules once the draft is in progress.

@ Whatlez - please don't mention undrafted players in the draft thread :)  no you weren't the first to do it but try and remember the rule, you might end up with him at pick #16 if you don't mention him again....

@ tbagrocks - they drew number #1 pick in the randome genrerated draft order done on random.org by trusted third party c4v3m4n.

Under the relaxed rules to the draft start, the following applies.

1. The #1 pick must pick at the scheduled start time of the draft. This is 9pm AEST Friday. The #1 pick could have chosen any time sooner that suited them but decided not to as they wanted to wait a week. If I had have started the draft sooner then they would not have had to pick under the following rules. BUT since they did not opt to select a time and I HAD TO set the time. THEY MUST PICK WITHIN 2 HOURS OF THE DRAFT START TIME.

2. All other teams may take their picks at the earliest convenience but NO TIME RETRAINTS WILL APPLY...

FOR

a) the first full round of picks, or

b) the first 7 days of the draft, whichever comes sooner.

Following that (either the first full round of picks, or the first 7 days) normal draft time limits on picking will be in effect and enforced.

I trust this is all clear to everyone and there is no confusion, please let me know if there is.

AGAIN - the reason the team with pick #1 does not enjoy the luxury of picking whenever they want to without time limits is that the draft is set to start at a time of their choosing so no delay in picking from them will be allowed. (No they did not the start time of the draft, but they could have.)

Im not gonna be available tonight until 8:30 Sydney time, so if it does start tonight, could they pick maybe slightly later?

as you all know now from my PM, the draft time and rules have all been set.

I am not going to mess around with maybe and if's.... I have 16 teams to consider not 1.

either they (PB/Nails) give me a time and date earlier than the one I have set and guarantee me they will pick at that time , or it is set and will be what it is as per my PM just sent.

To delay is pointless, i am happy to start earlier but will need confirmation from them by PM first, and will then need to PM all teams AGAIN.

They will need to give me at least 1 hours notice of the time they set to pick so I can ensure I get the updated start date and time to all teams via PM.

The ONLY chance anyone can be sacked - is if they are online for 2 hours and don't pick "DURING THE RELAXATION PERIOD"

in other words straight after we all know the draft starts and during the first round of picks, the most important round of picks, a team is online for 2 hours and doesn't both to pick, seriously have to consider that persons suitability to be apart of the competition don't we?

after the relaxation period the rules revert to normal where they will just be skipped for not picking when online for 2 hours. same as they will be skipped for not picking for more than 24 hours from the previous teams pick.

only real difference in the relaxation period, is the 24 hour rules is relaxed, and the 2 hour rule will be taken very seriously.
