Is anyone actually satisfied with their backline?

2012 has been the second consecutive poor year for DT defenders. I'm sure I'm not the only person who wishes the glory days of 2010 will return, when Goddard was scoring like a super premium midfielder, Hodge and Kelly were available as defenders, Gilbert was still a premium and there were about 20 backmen averaging over 85 in DT.

This season there are only 8 or 9 backmen who can guarantee you 70+ points pretty much every week. I have only one trade left, but I'm still stuck with having to start the very inconsistent Pearce Hanley, Michael Johnson who is getting too many key defensive roles and Matt Suckling who is out of form and got the green vest today (and that is after trading out Golby, Duffield, Hargrave and Broughton).

So... now that it is finals time, is there anyone who can say they are actually satisfied with their backline?

(BTW, my backline reads Deledio, Goddard, Carrazzo, Heppell, Suckling, Johnson, Hanley (Bugg, Morris). And no, I am not satisfied with it).

If everyone elses backline is averaging 80 and yours is averaging 80 you have to be happy. You can simply not expect to score 100s each week in the backline.

My backline is: Deledio Birchall Shaw Goddard Carrazo Scotland Lake....fairly average with no Waters or Grimes.

Mr.Craig

Backline has killed me all year. Shaw, Birchall, Hanley, Goddard and Lake have shown flashes of brilliance mixed with injuries and shocking scores. Meanwhile Scotland, Waters and Grimes have regularly performed well but never managed to find a way into my team. Always hoped at least one out of Hargrave and Clarke would be a keeper...didn't work out sadly.

Lids is a superfreak. :D

At the start of the year I said I wouldn't worry about the backline as much as rest Cause they will be poor , that said last day stupid trades in picking highly priced defenders , how shattering is it when you don't take your own advice.

l have Deledio, Waters, Scotland, Carrazzo, Goddard, Shaw and Suckling. But Suckling is skating on thin ice right now, am seriously thinking of using a luxury trade to swap him for Birchall

The It

Only good defenders have been Deledio and Scotland for consistancy and missing the least games

Chelskiman

Lids, Scotland, Carrots, Waters, Goddard, Birch and Suckers.  Can't really complain.  5/7 tons this week with Waters the only one that really failed, seeing as Suckling started as sub and got 50 odd in a half.

fertalong

I have the 7 highest averaging defenders so can't complain.
Scotland, Birch, Waters, Carrots, Deledio, Goddard, Grimes

POK252

I'm pretty happy with my backline but they can never all perfrom in the same week (guess thats hard to expect)
I've got Deledio, Scotland, Waters, Carrazzo, Birchall, Goddard and H.Shaw (Ellis Darley) (With Swan out I moved Lids to the mids and Bags to defence for this week)
Only way i could slightly improve would be Grimes instead of Shaw

henry

Deledio, Scotland, Carrazzo, Goddard, Adcock, Heppel and H Shaw for me. Not too bad, though I'm still kicking myself that I traded out grimes after round 3 to stop a donut  ::)

TMurphBROWNLOW

the best and most consistent backline at the moment would be:

Deledio, Goddard, Scotland, Grimes, Waters, Birchall, Carrazzo

that'd be ideal! If you have at least 5 of them you've got to be fairly happy with that!

Macca#23

Mine is Lids, Scotland, Birchall, Goddard, Waters, Carrazzo and MJ.

The only guy I would trade out is MJ. That's if I had the trades, but I don't.

Lozza

Pretty happy with mine except some of the inconsistency:
Deledio, Scotland, Waters, Birchall, Goddard, Suckling, Carrazzo
